    LACBA is searching for a business development and outreach manager who is a strategic thinker and innovative to pursue and acquire new business opportunities through sponsorships, digital advertising, and other financial prospects. The manager will collaborate with marketing, events, publications, and membership teams, as well as senior management and other stakeholders, to develop and execute development strategies for organizational wide goals. This position is fully remote in Los Angeles County with onsite and offsite meetings.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Strategic planning: Create and execute development strategies to achieve sales goals. Identify target markets and potential partners and develop outreach strategies.
    • Sponsorship acquisition and support: Build and maintain relationships with partners, as well as prospective partners, and stakeholders. Negotiate contracts to secure sound business agreements. Support and collaborate with leadership to identify and secure event sponsorships for LACBA’s many sections.
    • Sponsorship and membership support: Be the driving force behind efforts to attain sales targets for LACBA. Develop proposals, presentations, and sales pitches.
    • Digital ad trafficking: Develop, manage, execute, and optimize paid advertising campaigns across platforms, such as the Los Angeles Lawyer magazine, LACBA publications, social media, and other digital channels. Develop media kits, marketing surveys, and other development items as needed.
    • Client management: Maintain long-term partner satisfaction and ensure retention beyond the onboarding phase. Oversee accounts receivable management in collaboration with support staff.
    • Networking: Identify opportunities through meetings, networking, social media, and other channels. When appropriate, attend association events and conferences to promote LACBA and its products and services. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and support for membership and business development initiatives.
    • Market research: Regularly analyze the market, including competition, to discover new business opportunities, strategies, and partnerships. Strong understanding of LACBA products and services.
    • Performance tracking: Consistently evaluate the effectiveness of business development strategies and initiatives. Regularly report on revenue growth, market insights and trends, and partner acquisition.
    • Other duties as assigned.
      • All team members are expected to support and participate in LACBA staff events and other potential events.

    Experience and Education

      • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
      • Minimum of four (4) years’ experience as a business development/ sales professional.

      • Proactive, innovative and results-oriented
      • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to build and maintain relationships with partners, members and internal teams
      • Proven track record in sales and the ability to close deals. Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable terms and agreements
      • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
      • An understanding of legal trends and monitoring of competitive activities to identify new business opportunities
      • Analytical problem-solving skills and data-driven decision-making experience to address challenges and identify opportunities
      • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, and Zoom
      • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
      • Willingness to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends
      • Familiarity with and experience in the legal profession a plus
