    Reports to: Director, Market Development. Will also work closely with the Building Energy Exchange (BE-Ex), our partner in the Building Performance Partnership (BPP).

    Position Description

    The Institute for Market Transformation (IMT) is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization on a mission to equitably decarbonize buildings in this decade to improve the livability of our communities. We are in search of a Senior Project Manager for Market Development who will be responsible for project managing work related to High-Performance Building hubs and the Building Performance Partnership. This role includes supporting local markets advancing equitable decarbonization.

    IMT is a part of the Justice Climate Fund (JCF) coalition dedicated to funding energy efficiency improvements that benefit low income and disadvantaged communities under the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund (GGRF). This is one of a number of projects IMT is leading with partners nationally (including the Hubs) to provide training and resources that advance and sustain market development to support GGRF implementation. The Senior Project Manager will lead IMT’s project management on these innovative national efforts. IMT seeks a candidate excited to tackle hard challenges and have a lasting impact.

    Responsibilities

    Under the direction of the Director, Market Development, this position is responsible for but not limited to:

    • Developing and maintaining project work plans in close coordination with other IMT staff and external partners to keep activities of the project on schedule and to ensure successful deliverables. This will include attending, planning and facilitating regular team meetings and following up on identified next steps, project set up and ongoing management in Asana software.
    • Monitoring implementation and delivery of materials to and from project partners to ensure project compliance and fulfillment of commitments.
    • Working with IMT’s operations team, tracking and maintaining project budgets and expenses.
    • Developing templates for projects/locations to report both qualitative and quantitative data, coordinating among multiple teams, and advancing solutions that ensure projects meet their goals and milestones.
    • Synthesizing findings and outcomes reported from other team members, and drafting written reports, summaries, and recommendations for action.
    • Supporting the Director, Market Development, in other hub-related projects, which may include, but not be limited to, assisting with implementation of Needs Assessments for hub development, resource creation, metric/KPI development and tracking, or basic data analysis.
    • Assisting with response to Requests for Information (RFIs) and funding opportunities, working closely with IMT’s Development team and program sector leads, identifying relevant cross sector opportunities and helping to prioritize per IMT strategic plan
    • Building and maintaining relationships with a national network of external partners, including but not limited to existing Hubs and others in development.

    Qualifications and Skills

    • 5+ years of experience in a relevant role to include experience working as a project manager on a multi-dimensional project that involved external partners.
    • Demonstrated interest or experience working in sustainability or the buildings field with an emphasis on energy efficiency, building performance, or decarbonization.
    • Familiarity with real estate lending and/or community development finance preferred;
    • Experience managing multiple projects with external partners, including planning, reporting, KPI’s, and ensuring deadlines and deliverables are met.
    • Experience working on federally funded projects, and with multifamily/affordable housing are a plus.
    • Strong writing and communications skills.

    This is a full-time remote position. Occasional domestic travel to in-person meetings and conferences will be required. The salary range for this position is $90,000-95,000, commensurate with experience.
