    POSITION TITLE: Public Affairs Organizer

    LOCATION: Hybrid: Colchester, Vermont & Remote

    HOURS: Full Time, 37.5hours/week, Salaried (Exempt)

    UNION MEMBERSHIP: This position is represented by AFT union in VT

    POSITION PURPOSE: The Public Affairs Organizer position is an integral role to the public affairs team focusing on building community, expanding access to health care, and engaging in our robust organizing efforts in either Maine, New Hampshire or Vermont. This field organizer will work to implement an exciting field plan that includes recruiting, training and developing volunteer leadership that supports the overall actions and goals of the state’s public affairs department.

    YOUR DAY- TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:

      • Seek and develop opportunities to engage our communities in ways that will expand recruitment and build leadership
      • Build relationships with strategic partners including BIPOC and LGBTQ led organizations and mission aligned advocacy groups
      • Plan and implement events and projects including traditional canvasses, abortion stigma reducing deep canvassing, health center advocacy programs, storytelling cultivation, phone banks, community events, and recruitment opportunities
      • Actively participate in electoral campaigns, supporting the election of endorsed candidates, and ballot measures through coordinated or independent expenditure activities.
      • Develop volunteer leadership, including recruiting, motivating, cultivating and developing a team through side-by-side coaching and volunteer trainings
      • With the support of the Communications staff, create social media postings for various PPNNE/AF properties

    COMPENSATION:

    • Pay Range - for this position is based on years of relevant work experience. Candidates with 0-6 years of experience can expect to earn between $24.14 - $27.17 per hour/year. As experience increases, so does the rate of pay, with candidates who have 15 or more years of direct experience earning up to $33.78 per hour/year.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

      • Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and experience
      • Comfortable talking about all services PPNNE provides
      • Solid written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills are critical for this position
      • Self-motivation and an ability to successfully work independently, as part of a team, and as a team leader
      • Valid Driver’s license and access to a car with the ability to travel across the 3 state region
      • A willingness to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends
