    Young Audiences Arts for Learning New Jersey & Eastern Pennsylvania’s (YA) mission is to inspire young people and expand their learning through the arts.

    Since its founding in 1973, YA has grown into the region’s most comprehensive arts education organization. Our venue is the school. YA delivers teaching artist-led arts programming directly in PK-12th grade schools through residencies, workshops, performances, and teacher professional learning.     Job Posting: Part-Time Art Education Facilitator

    About the Position

    Young Audiences is seeking dynamic and creative individuals to join the Olivia & Leslie Foundation’s afterschool program in Hinesburg, VT. Very few afterschool arts experiences are available in Hinesburg. This program offers children a creative community that is unique and valuable, ending with a family event. Being part of it is a special experience.

    As an Art Education Facilitator, you will co-teach young children an engaging visual arts curriculum. This is an ideal position for an emerging educator, arts educator or child care professional who would like to gain valuable experience, in a supported team-teaching environment. Training, curriculum and art materials are provided onsite, making this an excellent work and learning opportunity. All work hours, including training and meetings, are paid.

    Key Details

    • Position: Part-time, Contract
    • Location: In-person @ Hinesburg Public Schools, Hinesburg Community School
    • Schedule: On-site teaching after school twice weekly for two six-week cycles (24 total sessions) with hours from 2:30 - 430PM; Virtual meetings and preparation on a flexible schedule.
    • Program Duration: Onboarding and training begin in March 2025; program ends in June 2025

    Responsibilities

    • Co-teach a pre-designed curriculum, bringing your unique artistic perspective, for children aged 5 and up
    • Collaborate with other facilitators and program coordinators to create a supportive and inspiring experience for students
    • Prepare materials and clean up after each session, using materials provided onsite.
    • Participate in professional learning sessions and team meetings

    Qualifications

    • Passion and curiosity for art education, young childrens’ learning
    • Work or volunteer experience in early childhood education or child care (ages 5 and up)
    • Strong communication skills with adults and children
    • Classroom management skills and the desire to grow in this area
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
    • Adaptability, and flexibility in lesson delivery

    Compensation/Other Information:

    • $150.00/per afterschool session - 24 sessions total (2:30-4:30 includes prep, teaching and clean up)
    • $50.00/per hour for professional learning, planning and reflection meetings, curriculum review.
    • Requires reliable transportation to Hinesburg Public Schools
    • All candidates who are hired must complete background check clearance (required for working with children)
