    Job Summary/Objective:

    The Marketing and Communications Department at Central Synagogue overseas all outreach, marketing and communications related to members of the synagogue, those who attend its classes and events, and its large global audience of Reform Jews and other community members. Led by the Chief of Marketing and Communications, this team is deeply integrated across all levels of the organization working to launch initiatives, reach varied audiences, raise the visibility of programs, and convey mission-aligned messages in a collaborative approach with colleagues and organizational partners.

    The role of the Communications Manager is to successfully grow engagement across all Central’s digital platforms while keeping a pulse on industry trends and strengthening the member experience. This role will work to drive online engagement among members and the broader community.

    Reports To: Chief of Marketing and Communications

    Hours:Full-time; Exempt and not eligible for OT

    General hours are 9:00 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday. The position will be expected to be available to work the High Holy Days each year and on an as needed basis for other special events, weekends and programs.

    Essential Functions/Key Responsibilities:

    • Driving website strategy, performing periodic content audits
    • Working closely with colleagues across teams to enhance the member experience
    • Managing Expression Engine (Website CMS), making changes as needed and proactively improving the user experience in partnership with Look North
    • Managing Campaign Monitor (Email marketing tool) to build and maintain templates, lists, and user experience
    • Serving as a critical user of Salesforce (CRM) in partnership with Membership team

    Core Competencies:

    • Extensive experience with email software applications, such as Campaign Monitor, Mailchimp, or Constant Contact
    • Extensive experience with website management
    • Passion for tech, data, marketing and nonprofits
    • Experience working with project management software and tools such as Monday, Basecamp, SmartSheet, etc.
    • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to multi-task effectively and independently in a fast-paced, team-oriented work environment
    • Must possess excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize
    • Graphic design skills a plus
    • Familiarity with Judaism and Jewish worship practices is helpful in the role

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree required
    • 3 years of experience in project management, communications or marketing role in a large complex, mission-driven organization

    The expected salary range for this position is $75,000 to $85,000. Central Synagogue offers an extensive benefits package designed to meet the needs of our dedicated and diverse community. The salary is commensurate with experience based on several factors, including, but not limited to, skills, knowledge, training, education, areas of specialization, and depth and scope of experience. The above salary range represents the Synagogue’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible compensation range at the time of posting.

    Hybrid Schedule: One day remote on Monday and four days in the office.
