    Position Overview

    We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to play a key role in managing the accounting and reporting functions of our Jewish Community Foundation’s financial records. In this position, you will leverage your strong computer skills to ensure accuracy and efficiency while working independently. You will also have the opportunity to showcase your initiative by identifying and addressing any discrepancies and collaborating with the Accounting Manager to maintain consistent and accurate standards.     Primary Responsibilities

    • Learn all aspects of two customer relationship management databases (currently Blackbaud Enterprise CRM and iPhi)
    • Recording contribution transactions in Accounting System with accuracy and timeliness
    • Prepare the weekly grant distributions
    • Prepare and support the month end close processing for the Foundation
    • Process donations and deposit into financial systems.
    • Maintain and update donor / accounting records in iPhi
    • Work with the Accounting Manager to improve financial processes for Jewish Community Foundation
    • Exercise good judgment, attention to detail and decision-making skills when working on donor accounts and use strong interpersonal skills when communicating with donors and colleagues, responding to inquiries and correspondence from donors and colleagues in a timely manner.

    Qualifications

    • Demonstrated experience with donor or customer relationship management databases.
    • One to three years of accounting experience, ideally within the not-for-profit sector.
    • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
    • Proven track record of collaborating effectively with colleagues across the organization to achieve goals and objectives.
    • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Strong attention to detail, with excellent multitasking, organizational, planning, follow-up, and prioritization skills.
    • Ability to consistently handle sensitive and confidential information with the utmost discretion.
    • Receptive to guidance and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of management, coupled with a positive, proactive attitude
