    Description

    We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our team as Campaign Canvassers! Our campaign is seeking to hire canvassers who will outreach to voters in North Beach, Russian Hill, Nob Hill, and surrounding neighborhoods of District 3.

    This program’s goal is to do voter outreach to voters elect Sharon Lai as the next District 3 Supervisor. As a canvasser, you will play a crucial role in reaching out to local residents, engaging them in conversations about important issues, and encouraging them to support our campaign. This position is also a great opportunity to develop and hone communication and persuasion skills. and get involved in local politics. We will primarily be door-knocking so applicants must be comfortable with attending in-person activities.

    We are a grassroots campaign committed to electing a candidate who will serve the people, who has direct experience in the issues we all care about, and who can deliver for the district and San Franciscans on day one.

    WORK SCHEDULE & HOURS:

    This position is part-time, up to 20 hours a week, through November 5, 2024. The hourly rate after training is $22-25 per hour (with verifiable experience), with no benefits.

    Work hours are Monday - Thursday (3 PM - 7PM) and Saturday - Sunday (10 AM - 2 PM) or (2 PM - 6 PM).

    PRIMARY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Conduct door-to-door canvassing in assigned neighborhoods.
    • Engage in meaningful conversations with community members about the campaign's goals and initiatives.
    • Distribute campaign literature and information to District 3 voters.
    • Attend trainings and develop an understanding of the candidate, policy platforms, messaging, and community response
    • Talk to hundreds of people each week (by phone call or door-knocking)
    • Collect and record data on voter preferences and feedback.
    • Complete accurate data entry
    • Share daily report summaries during our debriefing meetings
    • Represent the campaign in a positive and professional manner

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Commitment to the campaign and to elect Sharon Lai as D3 Supervisor
    • Able to work Monday to Thursday from 3 PM to 7 PM and some weekends between 10 AM to 2 PM or 2 PM to 6 PM
    • Ability to do physical activities including walking a few hours a day, door knocking, and other in-person activities
    • Basic computer skills and willingness to learn and familiarize oneself with programs such as Zoom, NGP VAN
    • Possess a functioning phone to make phone calls and canvass using an app-based platform.
    • Strong motivation and adaptability, including ability to work under pressure and with deadlines
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Comfortable speaking with a diverse range of people.
    • Passionate about community engagement and making a positive impact.
    • Prior canvassing or campaign experience is not required.

    SCHEDULE & COMPENSATION:

    • Flexible schedule with 10-20 hours of work per week.
    • Pay rate is $22-$25 per hour, depending on experience.
