    Description

    About Us:

The GenderCool Project is a youth-inspired movement with a simple mission: to help replace misinformed opinions with positive, powerful experiences meeting transgender and nonbinary young people who are thriving.

GenderCool is seeking a passionate, inclusive individual interested in joining our team as the Development Associate. Please visit https://gendercool.org/ to learn more about our organization.

    About the Role:

GenderCool’s work centers on replacing misinformed opinions with powerful, positive experiences, highlighting transgender and nonbinary young people who are thriving. Through innovative programs and impactful storytelling, GenderCool Champions—transgender and nonbinary youth and young adults aged 12 and older—have achieved remarkable milestones. They’ve authored a book series, introduced the President of the United States, testified in front of local, state, and national legislatures, presented at major conferences, been featured in an hour-long ABC/Hulu special, and appeared in outlets like USA Today, The New York Times, People, Self, Teen Vogue, and The Advocate.

GenderCool’s Development Associate is an essential part of the fundraising team at GenderCool. The Development Associate will provide extensive fundraising support, with a wide-reaching impact across all key functions, including database management, grant management, individual giving, and fundraising event planning. This position will play a collaborative role in developing and implementing systems that increase the quality and efficiency of our work, supporting our ability to grow and expand our mission.

To be successful in this role, you should have experience using Raiser’s Edge NXT, strong research and writing skills, and the ability to manage event logistics. The Development Associate should have the desire to be part of a rapidly growing social movement, fueled by the young people whom we call the GenderCool Champions.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Database Management (Primary Focus):
      • Maintain and update GenderCool’s donor database, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
      • Generate donor reports, mailing lists, and performance metrics to support fundraising efforts.
      • Process donations and prepare acknowledgment letters in a timely and personalized manner.
    2. Grant and Research Support:
      • Assist in researching grant opportunities and compiling background information.
      • Support grant proposal submissions and funder reporting as needed.
    3. Donor Engagement and Stewardship:
      • Coordinate donor communications, including thank-you letters, updates, and newsletters.
      • Help implement strategies to cultivate and steward relationships with donors at all giving levels.
    4. Event Logistics and Support:
      • Provide administrative and logistical support for fundraising events and campaigns.
      • Assist with event planning, vendor coordination, and follow-up activities.
    5. General Administrative Support:
      • Manage fundraising calendar and track deadlines for proposals, reports, and appeals.
      • Collaborate with team members to improve systems and workflows that enhance efficiency.
    6. Miscellaneous
      • Additional responsibilities and occasional duties as needed to support the organization
