Inviting applicants for Summer Program Teachers
Canadian Academy, a top international day and boarding school in Kobe, Japan, seeks enthusiastic teachers for our summer programs for students in K-Grade 8, which will run from mid-June to early August, 2025. Our summer programs offer opportunities for exploration in the arts, athletics, STEM, and more. This year we are also introducing an English as an Additional Language program.
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated teachers to provide engaging and enriching learning experiences for our students; the ideal candidate will be passionate about education, flexible, and committed to fostering a positive and collaborative learning environment for our summer programs students.
We especially wish to hire newly qualified teachers who are looking to develop their skills and experience in a fun, interactive setting while gaining valuable overseas work experience. Teachers who join us from overseas or from outside the Kansai region will be housed in single rooms in one of our newly renovated on-campus dormitories, and have the option to extend their stay by one week at no cost in order to explore the area. Our program runs from June 16 to August 1, 2025; teachers are expected to arrive on June 12 or 13 and to leave no earlier than August 2.

Our Location
Kobe is a scenic city of about 1.5 million people, nestled between the mountains and the sea. It is part of the larger Keihanshin metropolitan area, which with over 19 million inhabitants is Japan’s second-largest population center. Kobe is known in Japan as a center for excellent dining, design and fashion, traditional festivals, and outdoor pursuits. It was one of the first cities in Japan to open to foreign trade in the late 19th century, and has continued to be one of the most internationally-minded, foreigner-friendly, cosmopolitan cities in the country. Excellent high-speed rail connections make it easy to travel to nearby cities like Osaka (less than 30 minutes by commuter train), Kyoto, and Nara, as well as other destinations throughout Japan.
