Purpose of Position:
The Pioneers Assistance Fund (PAF) Social Worker (SW) is responsible for providing professional social work services to clients and families and assisting the Director of Social Services (DSS) in program operation and development.
Essential Duties:
- Interview clients, identify eligibility, create case plans, and administer case management with short and long term clients.
- Work closely with the DSS for approval for financial aid.
- Maintain a records management system allowing for effective documentation of all case files and client database.
- Refer clients to appropriate state, federal and community programs that offset the cost of grants given and that improve outcomes for clients.
- Assist in the daily operations of the PAF and perform duties delegated by the DSS.
General Staff Duties and Expectations:
- Keep accurate records of all job-related functions and personal benefits documentation.
- Prepare, plan, and organize all duties that affect office performance and other personnel in a timely manner.
- Maintain respectful relationships with all personnel and volunteers as well as provide good customer service internally and externally.
- Speak clearly with opinions and suggestions to other staff as well as respect decisions of other staff and volunteers.
- Maintain a comfortable work and harassment-free environment.
- Be aware and use proper judgment of your physical limitations when performing all work-related tasks.
- Adhere to all charity, state, and federal labor guidelines.
- Actively support the continued development of organizational policies and procedures.
- Actively support and contribute to the general performance of the organization by attending and contributing to staff meetings and brainstorming sessions.
- Act as community diplomat for the organization and its mission.
- Maintain confidentiality of clients and records.
Qualifications for the Position:
- Bachelors degree in Social Work
- Experience in Social Work preferred
- Desire to work in the motion picture sector of the entertainment industry
- Knowledge and willingness to learn all duties is essential to the performance of this position
- California driver license, proof of automobile insurance, reliable transportation, and ability to make occasional home visits and attend work-related functions in and out of state
