    Description

    OB PURPOSE

    Amnesty International is seeking a Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Officer – Human Rights Education to ensure the effective implementation of MEAL systems within its programme “Combating Gender-based Violence in Burkina Faso, Senegal, and Sierra Leone.” The role involves supporting planning, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting processes while strengthening the capacity of national and regional entities.

    This is an exciting opportunity for a highly organized and motivated individual to contribute to human rights education and gender-based violence prevention while gaining experience in programme evaluation within one of the world's leading human rights organizations.

    Please note this is a fixed-term position for 20 months, starting in April 2025.

    MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Develop and strengthen the Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) framework for the programme in collaboration with stakeholders.
    • Track programme delivery, progress, risks, and expenditure through regular communication and reporting.
    • Design data collection and archiving tools, ensuring continuous improvement based on field feedback.
    • Support the timely submission and review of reports, ensuring compliance with donor and organizational requirements.
    • Promote accountability and ensure adherence to safeguarding and child protection standards.
    • Build capacity of staff and partners through training on data monitoring, reporting, and best practices.
    • Maintain and develop relationships with key regional and international organizations to enhance technical support and advocacy efforts.
    • Supervise and coordinate the work of volunteers and external consultants as needed.

    SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

    • Proven experience in developing and implementing MEAL frameworks within international NGOs.
    • Strong knowledge of programme cycle management concepts and tools.
    • Experience working with donor-funded programmes and ensuring timely reporting.
    • Familiarity with safeguarding and child protection standards.
    • Excellent data analysis and reporting skills, with proficiency in tools such as KoBo Toolbox and PROMIS.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in multicultural environments.
    • Fluency in English and French is required; knowledge of additional regional languages is an advantage.
    • A Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., human rights, social sciences, development studies, project management).
    • Willingness and ability to travel within Burkina Faso, Senegal, and Sierra Leone.
