    Job Overview

    Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Resource Development- Annual Giving, the Resource Development Manager will be responsible for executing the Resource Development Plan as it applies to fundraising events, as well as other initiatives, to support the resource development budget. This position is also expected to support the overall operation of Harford Family House when needed. Certain tasks may be asked that do not fall into the essential functions of this job.

    Essential Functions

    1. Meet fundraising goals for special fundraising events, to include securing sponsorships, promoting ticket sales, securing auction items and managing other fundraising activities before and during the fundraising events.
    2. Raise financial support by working with event committees and developing and maintaining strategic funding events run by outside businesses and organizations.
    3. Recruit, supervise and manage fundraising event committees, to include providing materials and support to committee volunteers in order to secure financial and in-kind donations and manage all event logistics.
    4. Maintain relationships with current corporate sponsors while also recruiting new corporate sponsors
    5. Secure and manage relationships with all event related vendors to include caterers, entertainment, rental supplies, and other vendors needed to successfully implement events
    6. Work as a member of the Resource Development Team to plan the annual budget specific to fundraising events and corporate giving.
    7. Participate as an active member of the Resource Development Team
    8. Comply with company policies, procedures, and regulations
    9. Perform other related duties

    Technical Competencies

    1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to interact professionally and comfortably with individuals at all levels
    2. Ability to prioritize multiple time sensitive tasks and problem solve when there are competing priorities
    3. Proficient in Microsoft Office products to include Word, Excel, Outlook, & Teams
    4. Ability to research, know, and connect with major donors in the regional area
    5. Ability to work on multiple projects
    6. Ability to supervise and manage a team of volunteers
    7. Ability to become proficient in company and job-related technology
    8. Keeps current in event management, fundraising trends and best practices

    Physical Demands

    This is mostly a sedentary role with an occasional active walking or standing role during events. Bending, stooping, reaching may be needed for filing and use of office technology. Finger dexterity needed for keyboard typing. Lifting up to 25lbs for office and event supplies.

    Travel/Schedule

    This Job often travels regionally using a personal vehicle. Some weekend and evening work is required.Some work will be conducted off site and at various locations.

    Required Education and Experience

      1. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or related experience.
      2. 1- 3 years’ experience in event management, preferably at a nonprofit organization
      3. Familiarity with donor management software
