    Description

    Summary:

    Are you passionate about the intersection of Latinidad, social justice, and youth culture? Are you a natural storyteller, who can come up with Instagram Reels and TikTok videos in a timely manner? Are you experienced in cultivating online community engagement? If so, we’re interested in you for the role of social media producer, where you will support a mix of daily content creation and community engagement across our social platforms.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Pitch and create daily written and visual content for VL’s social media channels
    • Script, shoot, and edit videos for our IG/TikTok
    • Conduct research on news stories and fact-check information
    • Support community engagement on social channels.
    • Stay ahead of social media trends (on FB, Twitter, IG, and TikTok)
    • Ensure all social content aligns with VL audience engagement goals
    • Be able to analyze content performance metrics and help adjust strategy accordingly
    • Assist the social media director in planning and executing on social media plans for major VL campaigns and events
    • Travel as needed, at least once per quarter
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum 2 years experience producing social media content
    • Minimum 1 year experience working on community engagement
    • Experience with Social Sprout or other analytics software
    • Proven experience monitoring social channels for content opportunities and trends
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, bilingual in Spanish is a big plus
    • Excellent research and fact checking skills
    • Have basic iphone camera shooting and editing skills
    • Ability to simplify complicated subjects into digestible content
    • Ability to collaborate with other team members
    • Demonstrated commitment to, and awareness of Latino civil rights and/or issues of social justice.
    • Familiarity with politics
    • Some Adobe Photoshop and Premiere experience. Illustrator and After Effects preferred, but not required.
    • Willingness to learn and adapt.

    Salary & Benefits:

    Salary is $55-65k annually, depending on experience. Voto Latino also offers competitive benefits, including health insurance, and paid vacation leave. This is a full-time employment position.

    Location:

    Work is mostly remote with occasional in-person needs. Voto Latino is based in Washington, D.C. Preference will be for those based in or willing to move to the Washington, DC area. Though, for the right candidate, we are flexible.
