    END TIME HARVEST MINISTRIES (ETHM)

    Position Description: Academic Success Coach

    End Time Harvest Ministries (ETHM) is seeking an Academic Success Coach (ASC) who will bring exceptional leadership and a strong understanding to students preparing to graduate from Bladensburg High School (BHS). Applicants who are most suitable for this position have experience in youth development, education, and workforce development sectors. This person brings a deep sense of commitment to young people. The Academic Success Coach develops academic and career plans with each student to ensure that students successfully graduate on time. This dynamic leader will oversee student admissions into ETHM’s Pathways to Career Success (PTCS) program.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Academic Success (Grade Monitoring):

    • Provides academic coaching to all cohorts of students to ensure that each student successfully achieves their individual academic and career goals.
    • Inputs and tracks student academic and career data in their Individual Development Career Plan (IDCP).
    • Approaches program services with a focus on customer service, engagement, and collaboration.
    • Ensures case notes are entered each time you meet with students in their student IDCP to assess students' progress towards achieving their goals.
    • Meets with students and their families to collaborate with the student regarding the student’s academic and career progress.
    • Collaborates with school personnel to advocate and address the needs of ETHM’s students' grades and attendance.
    • Helps to plan year-end graduation celebrations for students and their families.
    • Develops partnerships with local colleges and universities to ensure students have access to college.

    Administrative:

    • Develops and maintains an outreach calendar of events to ensure outreach activities are well executed.
    • Completes students’ Service-Learning Hours (SLH) Forms to provide them with the number of service-learning hours they need for PGCPS’ graduation.
    • Identifies achievements and areas of concern with recommended solutions based on ETHM policies.

Utilizes methods for interacting sensitively, effectively, and professionally with persons from diverse cultural, socioeconomic, educational, racial, ethnic, and professional backgrounds, and persons of all ages and lifestyle preferences.

    II. Accountability – Takes ownership/responsibility for achieving results for tasks assigned and resulting outcomes. Creates an amicable and energetic atmosphere by working well with all members of the team starting with your supervisor. Recognizes the need for business-related changes and takes accountability for initiating appropriate responses. Is proactive in furthering organizational goals.

    III. Communications – Actively listens, orally, and in writing communicates students’ goals, and relates their academic and career goals. Ability to effectively articulate students’ goals to ETHM’s goal, mission, and vision. Establishes and promotes a climate of openness and diversity of expression. Embraces and effectively communicates the connection between individual employee goals and objectives to ETHM's vision and mission. Documents are effectively written. Uses correct grammar and follows written procedures established by ETHM. Is timely with all reports.

    IV. Dependability –Faithfully reports to school, work, and all ETHM activities and events on time. Follows proper call-in procedures and informs others of ongoing/outstanding work responsibilities to prevent disruptions to business operations.

    V. Results Orientation – Evaluates business opportunities systematically and targets those with the greatest potential for producing positive results. Demonstrates the ability to evaluate and deliver program services in alignment with requirements and quantifies program effectiveness.

    Qualifications & Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in education, Social Work, Project Management, Human Resources/Organizational Development, Nonprofit Management, or a related field from an accredited institution.
    • Fluency in Spanish is required.
    • 3 to 5 years of experience in youth development, education, and/or social work in a nonprofit environment.
    • Advanced skills in Google Suite and Microsoft Office applications. Mastery of diverse communication platforms, i.e., Zoom, GoToMeeting, SurveyMonkey, Teams, etc.
    • Skilled curriculum developer and implementer.
    • Ability to work effectively under pressure with little or no supervision.
    • Must have reliable transportation and the ability to travel to various worksites throughout Prince George’s County.
    • Some evenings/weekend work is required.
