    Description

    This is a unique opportunity to lead a park partner organization that is in its developmental years, and to contribute to the stewardship of New Mexico’s public lands.

    The Chaco Culture Conservancy provides philanthropic support to Chaco Culture National Historical Park and Aztec Ruins National Monument. The Executive Director oversees the organization, executes the organization’s mission, ensures that annual goals are met, and collaborates closely with the board of directors and the parks Superintendent. While the board of directors provides hands-on support, the Executive Director is responsible for all activities of the organization, including development, fundraising, donor cultivation, planning, and administration. This position drives the Conservancy’s philanthropic efforts, grows and maintains relationships with donors and Friends, and represents the Conservancy in the surrounding communities, with the National Park Service, and in other national work.

    The Conservancy seeks applicants who are passionate about preserving public lands, can demonstrate excellent people management, collaboration, and relationship building skills, are disciplined to work remotely, and have exceptional oral and written communication skills. A critical responsibility of this role is maintaining the organizations financial health. This position requires skill and experience in fundraising through grants, events, marketing, and solicitation of individuals, businesses, and foundations. This position requires a vehicle and stable home internet service.
