    Since 2008, DC Volunteer Lawyers Project (DCVLP) has provided free legal services to thousands of survivors of domestic violence, vulnerable children, and immigrant survivors of gender-based violence.     Reporting to the Executive Director, the Development (Individual & Corporate Giving) and Communications Manager will serve as a key member of the Development team. This is a dynamic position with wide-ranging responsibilities. This is a unique opportunity to work in a mission driven organization and gain vital experience at a non-profit, and help increase access to justice for underserved, low-income individuals in our community.     WHAT THIS JOB WILL ENTAIL:

    1. Actively work with the Executive Director and Development team to develop and implement comprehensive fundraising plans to engage individual and corporate donors.
    2. In partnership with the Victim & Community Outreach Manager, develop and execute high quality communications to donors, volunteers, clients, and partner organizations utilizing multiple mediums of communications including but not limited to mass emails, mailings, annual reports, social media, and other communication tools.
    3. Manage Amplifying Voices Society (individual donor giving society) and Junior Board (non-governing board of law firm associates) including all related communications and events.
    4. Utilize Raiser’s Edge for communications, gift processing, acknowledgment letters, and overall tracking of relationships.
    5. In partnership with Executive Director, manage individual donor prospects and relationships.
    6. Collaborate with Executive Director and Victim & Community Outreach/Events Manager on annual stewardship events including, but not limited to, Amplifying Voices Society Event, Domestic Violence Awareness Month Event, and Annual Spring Benefit.

    OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

You are able to work virtually, but you understand that onsite attendance in our D.C. office, court, and community locations will be required.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in development and communications.
    • You are proficient in MS Office (particularly Excel and doing mail merges), Adobe Acrobat Pro, basic graphic design, and database entry; experience with Raiser’s Edge is a plus.
    • Superlative interpersonal skills and ability to develop good working relationships with donors and other stakeholders.
    • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    SALARY & BENEFITS:

    DCVLP has a positive and supportive work environment with an intentional focus on recruiting, nurturing, and retaining a talented and diverse staff. We prioritize a healthy work-life balance. The salary range for this position is $63,000- $75,000. Employees receive 90% employer-paid health and dental insurance and vision insurance is also available. DCVLP sponsors a 403(b) retirement plan with a 4% employer contribution. DCVLP also provides a tax-free stipend of $75 each month for personal cell phone and Wi-Fi expenses. Employees receive generous paid time off every year, including three weeks of vacation, three weeks of wellness leave, and 13 holidays. We offer a generous family leave policy for parents following the birth or adoption of a child or placement of a foster child. DCVLP employees are also eligible to participate in the federal government’s Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program.     PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB:

    In addition to the functional skills in this job posting, the following physical abilities are representative of physical demands and environment essential to this position:

    • Regular attendance at DCVLP’s office.
    • Ability to travel to donor meetings and community locations.
    • The work environment has moderate noise (i.e., business office with computers, phone, printers, and light traffic).
