    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Position: Chief of Staff

    Hours: Full-time, 40 hours/week; eligible for benefits with some work on weekends and occasional evenings based on seasonal installs and events

    Salary Range: $85,000+ (commensurate with experience)

    The Chief of Staff at Beyond Walls is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing all program and project managers, as well as managing relationships with third-party organization and community partners. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong organizational skills, exceptional interpersonal abilities, and a passion for driving positive change through community-focused initiatives.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Chief of Staff will work closely with the senior management team to ensure alignment and coordination across all projects, programs, and partnerships. Key responsibilities include:

    • Program and Project Management (50%):
      • Provide leadership and guidance to program managers, ensuring effective planning, execution, and evaluation of initiatives.
      • Oversee the development and implementation of project timelines, budgets, and performance metrics to achieve organizational goals and alignment to our strategic plan.
      • Foster collaboration and communication among project teams, facilitating cross-functional coordination and knowledge sharing.
      • Establish and oversee processes for monitoring and evaluating Program and Project performance, including regular reporting and data analysis.
    • Partnership Management (30%):
      • Guide Program Managers in cultivating and maintaining relationships with project-specific third-party organization partners, including nonprofits, government agencies, and community stakeholders.
      • Serve as the primary point of contact for select. High level partner organizations, coordinating meetings, negotiations, and collaborative efforts.
      • Collaborate with prospective and established partners to identify opportunities for joint initiatives, funding opportunities, and shared resources.
    • Strategic Planning and Implementation (15%):
      • Contribute to the further development and execution of Beyond Walls' strategic vision, goals, and priorities.
      • Lead the implementation of strategic initiatives, working collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to drive organizational growth and impact.
      • Monitor progress against strategic objectives, identifying risks and opportunities for course correction as needed.
      • Work with the Executive Director on development initiatives and funding opportunities as aligned with the organization's development priorities and needs.
    • Performance Monitoring and Evaluation (5%):
      • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to assess the effectiveness and impact of Beyond Walls' initiatives.
      • Use insights from performance data to inform decision-making, improve processes, and drive continuous improvement.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in business administration, nonprofit management, public administration, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
    • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in project management, program leadership, or organizational management, with demonstrated success in overseeing complex initiatives.
    • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate staff, foster collaboration, and drive results.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with experience building and maintaining relationships with diverse stakeholders.
    • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with a track record of developing and implementing effective organizational strategies and initiatives.
    • Analytical mindset, with proficiency in data analysis, performance measurement, and evaluation methodologies.

    SALARY AND BENEFITS

    The salary for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience, with a starting range of $85,000. Beyond Walls offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical coverage, retirement savings options, flexible scheduling, and generous paid time off.
