    Summary:

    One Pennsylvania is seeking a Regional Canvass Lead to assist the Field Director in one of three regional offices in building, running, and managing large-scale campaigns like Voter registration, Base Building, Electoral Mobilization, Persuasion, turn out on our Vote engagement Programs each year.

    The ideal candidate for this position will be someone who understands team dynamics with strong management and communication skills. Someone who desires to build up our regional field capacity to drive election turnout and can work directly with field leaders and temporary staff to win campaigns to change our communities.

    A candidate with experience working on several different kinds of outreach campaigns, experience with building teams, and is a great multitasker. Someone who is a strong supervisor, technologically savvy, lives locally and is interested in long-term growth within the movement space.

    Responsibilities:

    Staff Recruitment & Retention

    • Manage the recruitment process and goals on team size by running an intensive hire push twice a year to recruit a temporary canvass team to fill shifts on several types of community outreach campaigns.
    • Conduct interviews for long-term canvasser positions and identify potential Core canvass team members for salaried positions from our temporary electoral canvass team each cycle.
    • Manage team size growth on our electoral/Voter registration programs.
    • Work with the HR team to vet, and promote canvassers from temporary to salaried positions
    • Track Recruitment Ads, and recruitment planning and help to develop long-term recruitment strategy. Help to test out new recruitment strategies like job fairs, campus recruitment, and Field Manager recruitment.
    • Track and Manage goals associated with recruitment rates and team growth such as Application rates, Interviews scheduled, Hiring rates, and Show rates on our temporary canvass program.

    Leadership Development & Training

    • Work with the Field Director to create and implement a training plan each week to support and drive canvasser performance office-wide.
    • Work directly with canvassers in the field to retrain on basic skills. Shadow staff in the field and do regular advanced training with crew captions on turf.
    • Facilitate and develop training with the support of the Field Director, and help to identify new Field Managers for future programs.
    • Leadership development and Retention of Core Canvass Team Members. Work to build a safe, respectful, and responsible work environment where staff is being held accountable and supported to grow into new positions within One PA.
    • Manage and track overall staff performance and implement quality control measures on all programs office-wide.

    Campaign Management

    • Develop a turf plan and or phone bank plan for the assigned campaign each week.
    • Work with the Co-Canvass lead to pair balanced canvass crews. Make sure each team has leadership, high performers, trainees and people who can work together.
    • Door knock with staff to test new turf sites.Leads will accompany any crew that is testing out a new canvass site. Will work to expand into new turf territory and find new opportunities in our communities.
    • Supervise the staff and Manage the goals and objectives for the campaigns assigned.
    • Measuring the effectiveness of our scripts, technology, literature and other campaign materials.

    Qualifications:

    • Excellent communication skills.
    • At Least 2 years experience Managing, Training and leading outreach teams.
    • Canvassing experience that includes electoral, base building, or community engagement.
    • Experience managing and executing performance across several different campaigns and programs.
    • Demonstrated commitment to social justice, equity and community empowerment
    • Experience managing and analyzing team performance.
    • Has proficient use of the VAN, automatic dialer, text programs, and google spreadsheets.
    • Experience with WordPress and/or HTML (not mandatory)
    • Able to represent One PA at table meetings to focus on relationship-building with partners.
    • Recommended but not required: experience managing and coordinating daily data strategy, ability to work with vendors to acquire and maintain data that enhances targeted outreach, experience working with partner organizations to enhance supporter/voter contact programs; direct organizing experience.

    Bonus Qualifications:

    • Worked as a Field Manager on more than one campaign.
    • Willingness and ability to speak to the media and testify in city hall
    • Civic engagement experience with the ability to conduct political education training.

    Successful applicants must have excellent communication skills, show leadership in large and small groups, be able to work in a team where roles are fluid, and have knowledge or willingness to learn about the social justice strategies and movements that come before us. All applicants must have the ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.

    Compensation:

    Competitive salary package of $70,000 and benefits including a substantial amount of paid time off, optional 401K type plan with generous employer match, and fully paid health insurance.
