    JOB SUMMARY:

    The Programmatic Marketing Manager is a goal oriented, detailed, creative customer service focused and highly motivated professional who is able to communicate and work seamlessly with Melanoma Research Foundation (MRF) constituents, donors, staff and partners. The

    Programmatic Marketing Manager will support the Communications and Program teams (Research, Education and Advocacy) by developing and distributing marketing materials for different programs, campaigns and events, while providing outstanding customer service for MRF constituents.

    The Programmatic Marketing Manager will report to the Chief Communications and Marketing Officer but work closely with multiple members of the MRF staff including but not limited to: Advocacy, Education and Science teams. The Programmatic Marketing Manager will work closely and share some responsibilities with the Development Social Media and Marketing Coordinator. This role contributes to the MRF’s organizational effectiveness by developing clear, compelling and timely communications to advance the national programmatic needs of the MRF.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Work with the Chief Communications and Marketing Officer and Development Social Media and Marketing Coordinator and program teams to create marketing strategies, print materials and multimedia assets
    • Serve as main liaison between programmatic teams and communications and provide project management for communications team
    • Alongside program leads, edit and update research, education and advocacy sections of the MRF website
    • Oversee MRF's communications calendar with assistance of communications team
    • Manage all education, advocacy and research digital campaigns including social media, email campaigns and creation of accompanying digital graphics
    • Manage the monthly e-newsletter, the SPOTlight, through creation and implementation of an annual calendar, drafting copy, editing and distribution via Luminate platform.
    • Assist with oversight of the Foundation's CURE OM Eye on OM and Advocate newsletters
    • Lead video editing projects associated with patient symposia series, patient/researcher/ advocate testimonials, Foundation video projects etc. for external promotion
    • Assist in editing all external facing communications, maintain and enforce MRF style guide
    • Attend select scientific and patient meetings to cover and promote sessions via social media, blogs and wrap-up emails
    • Provide customer service for MRF constituents in-person, through social media and over the phone
    • Post on social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram and TikTok) via the platforms themselves as well scheduling through Buffer
    • Have a working knowledge of social media paid ads and Google Ads
    • Track monthly social media analytics using Buffer analytics
    • Assist melanoma survivors, caregivers, doctors, etc. with the creation of blogs and vlogs when appropriate
    • Work with graphic design vendor to create social media assets for campaigns
    • Create one-off graphics for social media posts and emails that relate to program events and resources using InDesign and/or Canva
    • Develop program materials to promote (invitations, event registration pages, etc.) and facilitate (agendas, programs, signage, etc.) programmatic events

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

    • 4-6 years of experience in marketing or communications, or related experience
    • Strong writing/editing/verbal communications skills required
    • Proficiency utilizing Blackbaud platforms including Luminate or other email marketing platforms preferred
    • Experience with fundamental graphic design concepts and tools as well as video editing software. Proficiency preferred
    • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to multi-task multiple projects at one time
    • Strong project management experience and ability to multi-task several ongoing tasks
    • Flexible and responsive to sudden matters that may arise or become short-term, high priority tasks
    • Able to set realistic expectations and manage competing priorities or requests from colleagues
    • Team-player with a positive attitude who can effectively work with multiple constituent
    • Previous management experience preferred
    • Travel required in support of an average of 6-10 events per year. Some weekend and evening travel may be required.
    • Position is hybrid with in-office expectations of 2 days per week. based in Washington, DC

    EDUCATION:

    • 4 Year degree required in public relations, journalism, communications or related field required.
    • Minimum of 4 years of experience in non-profit communications.
    • Experience with media monitoring services/reporter database search services is preferred.
    • Prior experience in cancer or health advocacy organizations preferred.
    • The position requires being seated for several hours a day
    • The employee must frequently speak and hear as well as utilize the telephone, computer keyboard and monitor, pen and paper
    • The employee is required to walk and/or travel by car, train or plane

    Please note that only candidates who are local to the DMV Metropolitan area will considered as the role is hybrid which requires two days onsite in the Washington D.C. office.
