    Organization Description

    Indego Africa is dedicated to empowering artisan women in Africa through employment opportunities and education. Partnering with over 1,200 women in Rwanda and Ghana, we design products in New York City and handcraft them in Africa using traditional techniques and local materials. We reinvest all profits into education programs for artisans and youth in their communities, fostering entrepreneurship and impactful change.

    We are currently seeking a Fulfillment and Office Manager to join our team in New York.

    Fulfillment Responsibilities:

    Retail Customer Service

    • Respond to all inbound inquiries from retail customers
    • Manage refunds, return shipments, and inventory discrepancies

    Post-Production

    • Prepare all products for sale. This will include product finishing, tagging, label sewing, packing, etc.
    • Ensure quality control standards are met
    • Support Wholesale Account Manager

    Logistics and Fulfillment

    • Prepare and maintain shipping records
    • Package and ship retail and wholesale client orders
    • Contact UPS, FedEx, DHL, and USPS when needed (shipping issues, scheduling pickups, etc).

    Inventory Management

    • Unpack and organize shipments from Rwanda & Ghana
    • Reconcile inventory levels though regular physical counts and SOS Inventory reports
    • Conduct quality inspections for all items received

    Studio Maintenance

    • Assist with pickups and drop-offs as needed
    • Order all office supplies
    • Prepare showroom for client visits

    Brand and Marketing Support

    • Update and maintain product listings on Indego’s website
    • Pitch new marketing ideas
    • Check and post on Pinterest for latest trends

    In-Person Sales

    • Assist with execution (product transport, set-up, and breakdown) of trade shows, sample sales, and pop-up shops
    • Utilize Square to process credit card transactions and conduct in-person sales

    Office Management Responsibilities:

    • Maintain inventory levels for all office and packing supplies
    • Reorder office and packing supplies as needed
    • Process incoming and outgoing invoices
    • Sort mail
    • Provide general information technology support
    • Coordinate the physical maintenance of office space with building management and other service providers
    • Coordinate in person events / appointments in the office
    • Help with day-to-day office management and other duties
