    The Tahirih Justice Center is a national, nonprofit organization that serves women, girls, and all immigrant survivors of gender-based violence. Our interdisciplinary, trauma-informed model of service combines free legal and social services with bridge-building policy advocacy and research-based training and education.     Position Summary

    Reporting to the CEO, the Director of Client Advocacy, Social Services is responsible for the execution of Tahirih’s delivery of social services nationwide and supervises all social services program managers. This director will work collaboratively with other program directors to lead the organizational implementation of interdisciplinary client services teams, oversee social services program standards and caseloads, ensure client-centered service delivery, facilitate best practices and cross-office ways of working and provide trauma informed supervision to the social services program managers. The Director will be a leader in Tahirih’s commitment to increasing cultural competency, humility, and equity alongside the other program directors and leadership team. This is a hybrid position but this individual must be located within commuting distance of one of our five office locations (Falls Church, VA; Atlanta, GA; Houston, TX; San Bruno, CA; or Baltimore, MD).

    Essential Functions

    • Lead successful implementation of Tahirih’s interdisciplinary service delivery model; ensure client services team develops and executes strategic goals and objectives; develop programmatic policies, and processes to ensure consistency with professional standards and ethical practice.
    • Supervise social services program managers through regular individual and group check-ins, ensuring direct feedback and accountability for the quality, efficiency, and consistency of Tahirih’s services and caseloads
    • Provide training and technical assistance to interdisciplinary team members and external peers and professionals
    • Collaborate closely with other program directors to ensure trauma-informed, efficient service provision and utilization of volunteers
    • Provide crisis intervention support to the client services staff in problem solving complex client safety concerns both physical and psychological.?
    • Curate and develop materials and resources related to social service provision, crisis intervention, safety planning, trauma-informed services
    • Ensure that all client services staff receive high quality and timely cross training on legal developments, client engagement strategies, and other knowledge and skills to support liberating, survivor-centered interdisciplinary client advocacy;
    • Ensure client services staff are equipped with knowledge, information, and resources for appropriate trauma-informed work and trauma resilience.?
    • Provide overall management of the disbursement of funds from Tahirih’s Client Fund.?
    • Partner with the grants department to develop technical content for grant proposals, work with managers to develop workplans to ensure execution of grant metrics and develop program policy and trainings to ensure staff grant compliance.
    • Cultivate client services staff culture and skills to center and uplift clients’ leadership and advocacy.
    • Represent Tahirih publicly in coalitions, trainings, conferences, and fundraising events to increase public awareness of Tahirih’s work and issues it addresses and strengthen the organization’s reputation as an impactful leader and advocate in the field.
    • Oversee the use of TIO to ensure consistent and accurate use by program staff to support accurate record keeping, accurate case file documentation, data management, and data integrity.

    Requirements

    • Master's degree in social work
    • 8 or more years of relevant experience serving the needs of a diverse population;
    • 5 or more years of case management experience
    • Experience working within or demonstrated enthusiasm for leadership in an interdisciplinary setting;
    • Sincere and informed commitment to equity and inclusion, social justice and dismantling individual and systemic violence against women and immigrants.
    • Interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations with both internal and external stakeholders; demonstrated ability to maintain poise, tact, and diplomacy.
    • Demonstrated ability to think innovatively and execute creative problem solving, strategic thinking, and analytical skills; an exceptional ability to build open-minded relationships across lines of difference, forge consensus, and resolve conflict.
    • Deep trauma-informed understanding of the experiences of immigrant survivors of violence.
    • Strong project management skills and exemplary time management and prioritization skills.
    • Knowledge, appreciation, and commitment to staying abreast of social services practice area issues at the local, state and national levels.
