    Description

    Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC), located in Washington DC, seeks a Systems Administrator to join our IT team. Reporting to the Director of IT, this position is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware, software, and related infrastructure. This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation, and ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values, while enabling staff to work effectively and efficiently with the technology provided by STC’s IT department.

    The Systems Administrator’s responsibilities include but are not limited to: primary helpdesk support at multiple locations, including printer and copier support and troubleshooting. Windows Server installation and management in a VMWare environment, including maintenance, support and troubleshooting; PC maintenance, support, troubleshooting and administration; managing an Active Directory environment; managing and troubleshooting a host of Microsoft products including: Azure, the Microsoft 365 Product suite, One Drive, Sharepoint, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Exchange Online; working with Hyper-Converged infrastructures; working with 8x8 Cloud-based Phone systems, and working with Azure Backup technology. The Systems Administrator will also complete standardized PC builds and utilize imaging software where applicable and will assist the Director of IT in accomplishing other short- and long-range projects. This is a full-time position with excellent benefits and an annual salary of $80,000 - $85,000.

    The successful candidate will have 3-5 years relevant work experience, with at least 1-2 years applicable Systems Administrator experience. They will have extensive knowledge of Microsoft Windows Desktop OS with emphasis on Windows 11 and the Windows Server platform. Extensive knowledge of networking concepts preferred. Preference will be given to candidates with Microsoft certification (MTA,MOS,MCSA,MSCE) and other field-related certifications. Knowledge of MAC OS is a plus. This is a hybrid position with at least three days per week onsite required.
