As a key member of the Development Team, the Institutional Giving Coordinator will work to meet—and strive to exceed—annual fundraising goals by securing institutional support for education, horticulture, environmental, and cultural programs as well as technological, planning, and capital initiatives. • Assist with the institutional giving grants and reporting calendar
    • Conduct prospect research for new foundation, government, and corporate funders
    • Work with Development colleagues to ensure that information from institutional donors, including contact information, remains updated in databases and contact lists
    • Provide support to Director of Development’s efforts to seek corporate sponsorships and deliver sponsorship benefits
    • Coordinate internally to ensure financial and programmatic information relating to grants and reports is accurate and reflective of the donor’s requirements
    • Assist with preparation of materials, including Board Reports, corporate sponsorship decks, Annual Reports, and other QBG collateral

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree
    • Excellent writing, communication, creative thinking, and organizational skills
    • At least two years of relevant experience, preferably in non-profit institutional giving, grant writing, corporate giving, or city government; experience with federal funding a plus

    • Strong time management skills; ability to juggle multiple deadlines at once
    • Awareness of, or interest in learning about, cultural landscape in New York City and public gardens
    • Ease with technology; proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with Sharepoint and DonorPerfect a plus.
    • Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends
