    Description

    Center for Hope and Safety in Bergen County, NJ, is founded in the belief that every person has the right to be safe, empowered and free from violence. Working up to 19 hours per week Monday-Thursday between 2pm and 8pm, as arranged according to program needs, you will render comprehensive professional assessments, therapy, and psychoeducational trauma-informed care to survivors of domestic violence. You will also provide services to clients in individual, group and/or filial/family therapy configurations using creative arts therapy and/or play therapy modalities in collaboration with the Project CHILD team.

    Responsibilities:

    • Conduct client intakes and assessment interviews.
    • Conduct weekly individual and/or group therapy sessions with children and/or parents.
    • Create comprehensive client treatment plans and review/revise as necessary.
    • Complete client evaluations and discharge summaries.
    • Complete monthly, quarterly and annual statistical and narrative reports as required. Input all assigned information into database.
    • Provide client advocacy and referral services as needed.
    • Participate in outreach activities as needed.

    Experience:

    • Master’s degree in a Creative Arts Therapy discipline (Art Therapy, Music Therapy, Drama Therapy or Dance/Movement Therapy), Clinical Social Work, or Counseling required
    • Creative Arts Therapist license or license eligible required, as well as board certified or certification eligible; if Art Therapist, NJ LAAT/LPAT licensure required; if Social Work or Counseling LSW/LCSW, LAC/LPC with certification in a creative arts therapy modality and/or play therapy will be considered
    • Minimum of 1 year professional experience working with child/adults victims of domestic violence a must
    • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
    • Valid Driver’s License a plus
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task necessary
    • Must be a motivated self-starter
    • Must be able to work Monday-Thursday between 2pm and 8pm, as arranged according to program needs
