    About Leadership Tomorrow

    Leadership Tomorrow (LT) is a community leadership organization that educates, inspires, connects, and catalyzes leaders from across Puget Sound who collaborate for collective impact. Through our Flagship Program and alumni programming, we help public, private, and nonprofit leaders of all ages cultivate a deeper understanding of interconnected issues that shape our region. Our 2,780 alumni are leaders in businesses, organizations, governments, boards, and commissions across Puget Sound where they leverage the power of their individual and collective voices for positive systemic change.

    Every September to June, LT’s Flagship Program brings together a cohort of 80 cross-sector leaders to explore the interconnected issues that shape our region, develop and practice strategies and tools to become more effective leaders, and expand their personal and professional networks.

    Position Summary

    Leadership Tomorrow is seeking to hire someone to join our team as a Flagship Program Manager who is dedicated to lead the implementation of LT’s Flagship program in service to our mission of catalyzing cross-sector leaders who work together for collective impact.

    The primary responsibilities are described below and include working collaboratively with the Flagship Facilitator and LT Curriculum Committee to implement the annual curriculum, which includes an orientation, eight day-long Possibility Days, two overnight retreats, and a graduation. The Manager leads recruitment for new cohort members including setting up events, creating materials, outreach to partners, and coordinating with LT staff & board. Additionally, they work with LT staff and the volunteer Screening & Selection committee to select the program participants.

    This Flagship Program Manager will join a small team committed to cultivating and engaging community leaders and reports to the Executive Director. This position works collaboratively with the Flagship Program consultant, volunteer Curriculum Committee, and the LT staff.

    This role will have some on-location work required. The person in this role will participate in early morning starts, evening events, and occasional weekends around the Puget Sound area.

    Critical Job Functions:

    The following describes the critical functions of the role but does not provide an extensive list of job responsibilities and duties.

    • Recruitment: Lead cohort recruitment efforts, work with LT team to support recruitment strategies for Flagship program.
    • Screening & selection: Work with LT staff to support the volunteer Screening & Selection committee to successfully screen, review, and select program participants and alternates.
    • Financial aid & tuition: Support effort to manage financial aid and tuition payments.
    • Program planning and delivery: Works with the Flagship Program consultant, Curriculum Committee and LT team to design and deliver orientation, eight Possibility Days, two retreats, graduation and any other events for the 80-person cohort in line with LT’s mission, including:
      • Agenda design: Develop agendas for each event.
      • Curriculum: Modify existing curriculum to meet the needs of the cohort in alignment with program goals and outcomes.
      • Event logistics: Plan and execute all program logistics including securing and communicating with venues, printing/materials, arranging catering, and managing room set-up and clean up.
      • Engagement with guests: Invite and facilitate communication with guest speakers, panelists, caucus-facilitators, trainers, sponsors and subject matter experts who contribute to the program.
      • Communication with LT program participants: Lead communication with Flagship cohort about all aspects of the program; respond to individual questions, feedback or requests for support.
      • Committee support: Prepare meeting agendas and materials for committee and sub-committee meetings.
      • Learning and Evaluation: Design and implement surveys and evaluations; incorporate learnings into the curriculum.
      • Facilitation: Facilitate select portions of program days and events; tag-teaming with the Flagship program consultant, LT team, and Curriculum Committee on adjustments as needed.
    • Represent LT: Provide updates to LT Board, serve as an ambassador to LT community, and engage with partners.
    • Team player: Support the organization in other matters as assigned, including fostering a healthy and inclusive team culture, improving on team processes, etc.

    Skills and Qualifications:

    An ideal candidate will be an equity-minded, connector of people and skilled project manager who can support the delivery of effective and relevant community leadership programs with joy. Specifically, we seek people with:

    • Passion for the mission of Leadership Tomorrow and a belief that leadership matters.
    • Three or more years relevant experience, ideally in adult education, program management, training and facilitation, or similar.
    • Proven project management skills, including the ability to manage timelines, deliverables, and multiple stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of programs and events.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with volunteers and motivate teams to work together.
    • Ability to conduct research and to design and implement educational programs on a wide variety of regional issues.
    • Knowledge of critical social and political issues facing the Puget Sound and prior experience in nonprofits are both plusses but are not requirements.
    • Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills.
    • Strong organizational and administrative skills; ability to work under pressure and manage details.
    • Demonstrated commitment to promoting racial equity.
    • Ability to present material in an engaging and energetic manner to a range of external audiences is desirable but not required.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to cultivate relationships inside and outside the organization.
    • Interest and experience in working collaboratively with colleagues with diverse backgrounds, views, and roles.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
    • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including events starting in early morning starts, evening events, and occasional weekends, around the Puget Sound area.

    Employment Details

    Leadership Tomorrow is affiliated with the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce; staff members of Leadership Tomorrow are officially employees of the Chamber and participate in Chamber benefit plans. The Chamber is committed to internal and market equity. The full pay salary range for this position is $72,262 to $108,387 annually, with an anticipated hiring range of $ 72,262 to $95,000 annually, based on experience.
