    Position Summary

    Galvanize USA is seeking a Donor Relations Manager to execute the strategy for securing gifts from individual donors to Galvanize USA and Galvanize Action. This involves handling a portfolio of mid-level donors, stewarding relationships with current donors, identifying and cultivating connections with prospective donors, and soliciting gifts and renewals. The person will report directly to the Senior Development Director, and will work closely with the Chief Development Officer, Executive Director, Special Assistant to the Executive Director, Director of Institutional Development, Development Coordinator, Development Associate, and highly engaged donors who volunteer their time to support individual giving.

    The person holding this position will also work part-time for a coordinated project, Galvanize Action, in the Sixteen Thirty Fund, a 501(c)(4) organization, under a resource sharing agreement between the Hopewell Fund and Sixteen Thirty Fund. The responsibilities under that position will be overseen by Sixteen Thirty Fund. Galvanize Action identifies, engages, and moves moderate women in rural, small town, and suburban America to reliably vote for progress. To learn more visit galvanizeaction.org.

    Responsibilities and Tasks

    • Development
      • Plan, implement, and manage fundraising and cultivation events – both in-person and virtual.
      • Serve as the lead for renewal campaigns.
      • Lead other special projects designed to raise funds and/or increase our base of donors, including the end-of-year campaign.
      • Steward a portfolio of individual donors in conjunction with the Executive Director and other members of the Development team through regular communication, webinars, and events.
      • Identify and cultivate prospective donors and work with sophisticated donor volunteers to do the same.
      • Solicit a range of giving, including mid-level gifts, via direct, personal asks, virtual and in-person events, and other fundraising campaigns.
      • Track and follow through on fulfilling donor pledges connected to events and individual stewardship/cultivation efforts.
      • Collaborate with the Senior Director of Development, Chief Development Officer, and the Executive Assistant to ensure the Executive Director and other key staff are prepared for high profile donor meetings and events.
      • Oversee the collection and maximization of donor data (including implementing a wealth screening initiative) to ensure effectiveness of fundraising strategies, and work closely with the Development Associate and Development Coordinator who are responsible for data collection and entry.
    • Miscellaneous
      • Travel with the Executive Director and other members of the Development team for in-person events and to attend team gatherings.
      • All employees of Hopewell Fund are required to complete timesheets every two weeks.
      • Perform other duties as needed.

    Qualifications

    • A minimum of three years of fundraising experience working with all levels of donors in nonprofit or political organizations is required. Political fundraising experience is highly preferred!
    • Strong writing and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
    • Demonstrates a very high level of organization; a strong ability to prioritize tasks to meet multiple deadlines, and the ability to pivot when needed.
    • A clear understanding of 501(c)(3), 501(c)(4), and political organizations’ legal issues/structures is preferred.
    • Commitment to organization’s mission and an understanding of the current civil, social, and political landscape.

    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Available to travel for in-person fundraising events and meetings and team gatherings.
    • Confidence with our tech stack: Asana (or similar project management tools), G Suite, NGP VAN/EveryAction, Slack, and Zoom.

    Compensation & Benefits

    The starting salary range for this position is $75,000 - $90,000. Placement within this band will be determined based on years of prior experience and relevant skills. Galvanize USA also offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes 100% employer-paid health, dental, and vision insurance for employees (and their families). Employees are able to enroll in the 401k retirement plan and are eligible for a 3% automatic contribution and up to a 3% employer match on 401k contributions. Employees are also eligible for pre-tax transportation benefits. Employees will receive 120 hours of vacation time, 80 hours of health leave, up to 2 days of casual leave, and 20 hours of volunteer leave annually. Employees will also receive 13 paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Employees are eligible for 12 weeks of paid family and medical leave after 90 days of employment.
