This role is perfect for someone who thrives behind the scenes keeping projects moving, communications clear, and systems running smoothly. From coordinating with school partners to supporting donor outreach and managing internal logistics, you’ll play a key role in helping our small but mighty team make a big impact.

    Core Responsibilities

    • Support operational tasks across the partnership lifecycle, including sales, onboarding, implementation, and engagement.
    • Support school and community events by setting up booths and answering student and counselor questions.
    • Research scholarships, write admissions blogs, and track post-secondary policy updates for partners.
    • Support internal wiki of organizational standard operating procedures.
    • Support grant writing and reporting, including research, drafting proposals, and tracking deadlines.
    • Prepare materials for funder meetings, including briefings, reports, and impact summaries.
    • Support donor stewardship and fundraising data tracking through regular updates, visualizations and reporting.
    • Explore alumni networks, board networks, and staff/supporter connections to identify potential donors, funders and strategic partners.
    • Provide board support, including preparing meeting materials, scheduling, note-taking, and follow-ups.
    • Manage CEO and team calendar, scheduling key meetings and engagements.
    • Support CoS to onboard new team members, interns, volunteers and consultants.
    • Support CoS to plan and execute team retreats, culture-building activities, and learning opportunities.
    • Coordinate domestic and international travel, including trip itineraries for work travel, speaking engagements, and stewardship initiatives.
    • Prepare CEO for conferences by creating look books of registered individuals and setting it up meetings.
    • Manage organizational purchases and track expenses to ensure accurate budgeting and reporting.
    • Support internal data dashboards for organizational impact tracking.

    Qualifications

    • 3+ years of experience in an administrative or operations support role, ideally supporting fundraising, partnerships, or events.
    • Experience navigating educational institutions and engaging with external stakeholders.
    • Comfortable with public-facing communication, including event outreach, tabling, or speaking with community partners.
    • Familiarity with education, college access, or mission-driven nonprofit work is a strong plus.

    Perks

    • Generous PTO – Enjoy two weeks off in the winter and summer, plus additional paid time off.
    • Health Insurance and Dental Benefits
    • Coworking Membership
    • Annual Team Retreat – A fully planned retreat to recharge, strategize, and build community.
    • And More! – We’re always adding benefits that support our team’s well-being and growth.

    Who You Are

You’re someone who sees the power in small details that make a big impact. You bring structure to moving parts, keep projects on track, and make sure nothing slips through the cracks. You thrive on clarity and follow-through, you know how to write an email that gets answered, build a system that works for everyone, and communicate with intention and trust.

You're comfortable using tools like HubSpot, Trello, and AI, not just to check tasks off a list, but to create smoother, more human-centered workflows. You believe efficiency is valuable when it deepens connection and builds community. Whether you're prepping for a funder meeting, coordinating an event, managing donor data, or jumping into something new, we can count on you to bring care, thoughtfulness, and consistency.

You don’t just maintain relationships, you nurture them. You send thank you notes before anyone asks, remember the details that matter, and approach every interaction as a reflection of what we stand for. You’re proud to represent Uprooted Academy at events, with partners, and in the community, and you carry our values into every space you enter.

Most of all, you're excited to be part of a small, committed team working on something big. You bring calm, capability, and purpose to the work, and you know that what we’re building matters.

    Why Join Uprooted Academy?

    • Work in a mission-driven organization that is expanding college access through AI-powered innovation.
    • Join a fast-paced, collaborative team that values iteration, learning, and bold ideas.
    • Hybrid work flexibility with up to 3 days in-person at our workspace in Los Angeles.

    Our Team Values

    1. Agility: We move with curiosity, creativity, and courage. We embrace process as much as outcomes, staying grounded in our mission while evolving to meet the moment.
    2. Collaboration: We believe shared success drives lasting impact. Internally, we show up for one another, clear on our roles, eager to help, and committed to collective progress. Externally, we collaborate across systems and with partners, knowing we don’t have to do it all to make meaningful change.
    3. Warmth: We lead with empathy, joy, and laughter, recognizing that our work is deeply connected to people’s lives, challenges, and dreams.
