    Title: Manager of Talent Growth & Development

    Reports To: Senior Director of Talent Growth & Development

    Location: US Based-Home Office (East Coast Preferred)

    Status: Full Time; Exempt (IC2/B5)

    Start Date: 1/2025

    Salary Range*: $70,000 - $80,000

    Who You Are: The Manager, Talent Growth & Development is someone who is experienced and comfortable supporting the Sr. Director of Talent Growth & Development in developing and executing leadership development strategy with minimum oversight. The person in this role is also familiar with developing and continuously improving org-wide competencies.

    Who We Are: Talent Growth & Development is a new area within Human Resources at Facing History & Ourselves. The overall goal of Talent Growth & Development is to:

    • Ensure all staff have the skills they need to support the success of Facing History’s strategic plan
    • Ensure managers have the skills needed to lead in ways that fully engage and tap the potential of their teams

    Specific Responsibilities Include:

    • Leadership Development: Support leadership development and various learning delivery channels for leaders by assessing, developing, facilitating, and evaluating learning opportunities. Help manage leadership development campaigns and ancillary leadership learning opportunities (e.g., peer learning groups, lunch-n-learns, etc.). Identify and assess potential future learning needs.
    • Program Development and Implementation: Create and implement training programs and continuously update them to ensure relevancy for leaders.
    • Individualized Learning Plans: Collaborate with leaders to identify training needs for their teams
    • Documentation: Create and maintain training records and reports
    • Competency Development and Maintenance: Support leaders in developing and maintaining competencies for the roles on their teams
    • Performance Development: Support the continuous performance development cycle by facilitating supplemental training for supervisors (e.g., goal-setting, feedback, coaching, etc.)
    • Help manage the professional development of all staff
    • Perform other related duties as required by position

    Experience and Qualities:

    Experience

    • At least 2 years of experience as a Training Manager, with minimum of 5 years of experience within the L&D field.
    • Significant experience in instructional design, designing and facilitating engaging and sound learning experiences
    • Knowledge of current adult learning and instructional theory, with an awareness of trends in the Learning & Development (L&D) industry
    • Experience developing and monitoring competencies
    • Experience with org-wide change management initiatives
    • Experience with Learning Management Systems (preferred)

    Remote-First/ Hybrid Work Model: Facing History and Ourselves operates in a remote-first/hybrid work model, allowing staff flexibility in both schedules and work locations. This particular position is home-based. Some travel is required.

    * We strive to offer competitive salaries commensurate with experience in a similar position. New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary range between the minimum and midpoint depending on experience and in alignment with internal parity.
