Deputy Executive Director for nonprofit organization focused on reducing barriers to education and increasing diversity in veterinary medicine.
Fully remote/work from home anywhere in the United States
Part Time: 20 hours per week initially, with potential for more
Travel: some travel is required within the US for major veterinary conferences such as VMX, WVC, and AVMA; anticipate 3-5 weeks of travel annually.

We seek an individual with leadership skills, a strong focus on collaboration to drive impact, the ability to develop, maintain and grow partnerships, and a deep understanding and commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging for underrepresented individuals and communities. As an organization, we are committed to being led by people with similar lived experiences to the individuals we serve. We are willing to invest in training and development to supplement the skillset of a promising leader. The role of the Deputy Executive Director is a new role, and is part of succession plan for the current leadership and growth of the organization.
Responsibilities of the Deputy Executive Director include but are not limited to:
An approximate allocation of time for the role and non-exclusive list of areas of responsibility is anticipated to be:
25% Supporting committee and board meetings
15% Supporting student initiatives
15% Financial review and management
15% Relationship management with sponsors and affiliated organizations
10% Presentations and student events
15% Development of infrastructure, resources etc
Required qualifications, experience, and attributes:
certification in not-for-profit management such as a Certified
Association Executive or similar
Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the United States as an employee
