    POSITION DESCRIPTION

    TITLE: Senior Director, Corporate Relations

    REPORTS TO: SVP, Education & Business Development

    SUMMARY: Responsible for developing a strategy for increasing revenue and new business development opportunities from partners for AGA programs. Focus on establishing, building and maintaining relationships with industry as well as Medical Education Companies.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

      1. Manage entire sales/relationship process, including:
      2. Develop outreach plan to maximize industry support from corporate partners. Create priority list of potential supporters. Establish goals/priorities for the sales/relationship team.
      3. Based on industry intelligence gathered by the team, develop strategy documents (in conjunction with staff and member experts) to ultimately seek industry support.
        1. Gather Intelligence from industry partners and medical education companies. Share intelligence internally on a regular basis to enable AGA staff to understand the industry priorities and work with them to develop ideas and concepts for potential support.
        2. Lead idea generation, based on intelligence gathering, for new opportunities for industry support. Work with internal and external stakeholders to develop ideas/concepts for potential industry support.
        3. Develop disease specific strategic plans for industry supported programs based upon feedback from needs expressed by departments/KOLs and industry interests.
        4. Work with Life Cycle group to develop campaign for transparent sharing of intelligence (quarterly presentations, intelligence newsletter)
      4. Conduct regular analysis/effectiveness of sales process, via data from Industry Sales Hub to maximize success of sales efforts.
      5. Build AGA’s internal catalog for industry support, including innovative, proprietary formats.
      6. Work with the Life Cycle team and other staff on proposal reviews (both internal and MEC) and respond to RFPs.
      7. Manage Corporate Relations department bi-weekly check-ins meetings. Participate in monthly collaboration meetings with other internal departments.
      8. Lead preparation and implementation of meetings with industry at DDW, CCC and other meetings, as appropriate (e.g. ACCME, Alliance Meeting, AASLD, ACG)
      9. Support Innovation sales efforts.
      10. Mentor program managers on the CR team.
      11. Develop new opportunities to increase revenue.
      12. Manage/coordinate with CR managers all Satellite Meeting sales (including exhibit/sponsorship sales for meetings, where appropriate)
        1. DDW (AGA Central, PGC), CCC (grant submissions), NPPA (grant submissions & sponsorships), GMFH (grant submissions & sponsorships), Tech Summit (sponsorships), Women’s Regional meetings (sponsorships), and others as they develop.
        2. Manage logistics for implementation of exhibit/sales, where appropriate.
      13. Grow sponsorship opportunities catalog with new ideas based on intelligence gathering.
      14. Develop and maintain industry contacts/intelligence tracking that is easily shareable.
      15. Create prospect lists.
      16. Develop plan to seek non-traditional funders (e.g. consumer product, foundations).
      17. Work with PMO to successfully transition industry supported programs to the program department(s) as appropriate.
      18. Communicate on status of proposal pipeline to ensure departments are up to date.
      19. Develop strategy to work with Medical Education Companies (MECs) to:
      20. Increase revenue opportunities for AGA.
      21. Seek out innovative programs for AGA’s implementation.
      22. Develop strategy for working with medical education companies (MEC) to maximize AGAs ROI. Ensure maximum efficiency in working with MEC partners to enable AGA to integrate more programs, effectively. Standardize pricing and services offered to MEC partners to maximize our ROI.
      23. Manage all aspects of submissions/reconciliations with MEC grants.
      24. Manage corporate relationship sales/relationship staff to maximize our results and effectiveness.
      25. Ensure regular and timely communication with supporters.
      26. Develop new concepts and ideas for support.
      27. Communicate intelligence learned from frequent outreach.
      28. Maintain the submission calendar and work with Life Cycle team to ensure submissions are on time and accurate.
      29. Work with Life Cycle team to ensure excellent lines of communication and implementation of submissions/reconciliation processes are maintained.
      30. Responsible for developing plan and ensuring that the RTD/ISH, pipeline and other tracking documents are kept up to date and shared frequently with internal stakeholders.
      31. Seek ways to work with Life Cycle team to streamline the tracking and submission process.
      32. Support implementation of the Finance SOPs and ensure CR is communicating appropriately about the status of projects with internal stakeholders.
      33. Lead all efforts with submissions and reconciliations for MEC grants.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

      1. Bachelor’s degree or commensurate work experience.
      2. Experience (3-6 years) in writing grants, needs assessments, and outcomes reports strongly preferred.
      3. Experience in healthcare, education or non-profit industries preferred (4-6 years).
      4. Supervisory experience (2-3 years), preferred.
      5. Excellent writing and presentation skills.
      6. Some travel is required, 6-10 times per year (combination of live and virtual meetings).
      7. Experience with project management software, as well as Microsoft suite of products, including Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote preferred.
