    Description

    The Executive Director (ED) will lead Texas Housers, a nationally-recognized organization dedicated to advocating for the housing rights of low-income households in Texas. Texas Housers works across several cities in Texas and is centered on strengthening the rights of low-income households and expanding affordable housing through coordinated action, research, and consolidating people power.

    The ED will be responsible for the overall strategic, operational, and financial management of the organization, ensuring the fulfillment of its mission and the sustainability of its programs.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Leadership and Strategy:
      • Implement strategic plans that align with the organization's mission and goals.
      • Provide visionary leadership to staff, volunteers, and stakeholders.
      • Foster a positive, inclusive, and collaborative organizational culture.
    2. Program Management:
      • Oversee the design, implementation, and evaluation of programs and services.
      • Ensure programs are effective, innovative, and responsive to community needs.
    3. Fundraising and Financial Management:
      • Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies to secure diverse funding sources.
      • Manage the organization's budget, ensuring financial health and sustainability.
      • Cultivate relationships with donors, grantmakers, and other funding partners.
    4. Advocacy and Public Relations:
      • Serve as the primary spokesperson for the organization, representing its mission and values.
      • Advocate for housing rights and policies that benefit low-income households.
      • Build and maintain strong relationships with community leaders, policymakers, and media.
    5. Operations and Administration:
      • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the organization, ensuring efficiency and compliance.
      • Implement and maintain effective administrative and human resource policies.
      • Ensure the organization meets all legal and regulatory requirements.

    Qualifications:

      • Proven experience in a senior leadership role, preferably within a non-profit organization.
      • Demonstrated commitment to housing rights, social and racial justice, and issues affecting low-income communities.
      • Strong understanding of the political landscape of Texas.
      • Demonstrated success in fundraising, financial management, and strategic planning.
      • Excellent communication, advocacy, and public speaking skills.
      • Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
      • Commitment to the mission and values of Texas Housers.
