    Director of Corporate Relations

    The Director of Corporate Relations is tasked with maintaining a portfolio of corporate donors and responsible for building and cultivating meaningful relationships with high-level executives from companies that will financially support The Tech. This full-time exempt role reports to the VP of Development.

    Responsibilities

    • Serve as a primary corporate relations officer for a portfolio of top companies. Manage this portfolio through all phases of the relationship cycle, including identifying opportunities, holding discovery meetings with executives, developing strategy, holding cultivation meetings, preparing proposals and reports, closing, and stewarding gifts.
    • Understand a corporation’s capacity for support, existing and new, and how their priorities align with The Tech. Work closely with corporate staff/leadership, The Tech’s Board of Directors, and The Tech’s staff/leadership in developing projects to bring to corporations.
    • Initiate face-to-face visits with corporate personnel at their location and The Tech; coordinate and prepare briefings for these visits for appropriate Tech staff, volunteers, and leadership. Debrief and follow-up after these visits.
    • Work independently and in partnership with other staff to compose, edit, and coordinate written materials, including proposals and budgets.
    • Ensure that appropriate stewardship is conducted in connection with awards and participate directly in the stewardship process as appropriate, collaborating with other staff members on corporate engagement strategies such as volunteer opportunities, tours and events.
    • Consult with and educate volunteers/staff in corporate fundraising. Coach and assist leadership, volunteers, and staff in implementing strategies, writing proposals, and preparing outreach. Help staff identify potential corporate support for projects that are high-priority initiatives.
    • Complete additional related tasks or duties as assigned by the supervisor/manager.

    Requirements and Skills

    • 6+ years of relevant experience in corporate fundraising with demonstrated success in achieving fundraising goals.
    • 6+ years of developing and implementing successful fundraising strategies with a focus on building mutually beneficial relationships, including prospecting, persistence, and building pipelines.
    • Demonstrated ability to initiate and conduct successful meetings with C-level executives, board members, volunteers, and executive staff.
    • Ability to thrive in a complex and dynamic environment and to manage competing priorities while staying focused on the need to continually network, create new, authentic relationships, and bring funders to The Tech.
    • Experience managing committees to achieve fundraising goals.
    • Experience using a CRM system to track relationships and meet fundraising goals.

    Working Conditions and Schedule

    • This is an on-site role with the possibility of flexibility for working some days at an alternative work location. Flexibility will vary depending on the needs of the job.
    • Working occasional evenings and weekends will be required.
