    Founded in 1970, the Ecology Center works to develop innovative solutions for healthy people and a healthy planet. In recent years, the Ecology Center has been at the forefront of protecting communities from PFAS, lead exposure, air, water, & plastic pollution, among other environmental health concerns. In addition to our environmental health work, the Ecology Center is a leading advocacy organization in Michigan’s clean equitable energy revolution. The Ecology Center is the parent organization of Recycle Ann Arbor, founded in 1977, which works to build zero waste communities through convenient and innovative services.     Position Summary

    The Ecology Center is seeking a Development Coordinator to support the implementation of the Ecology Center’s fundraising plans. The Development Coordinator will focus their efforts on:

    • Organizing the Ecology Center’s annual fundraising event,
    • Developing and coordinating online fundraising campaigns,
    • Managing data on Salesforce CRM development database,
    • Identifying and soliciting new businesses to sponsor the annual fundraising event,
    • Creating outreach and fundraising materials,
    • Analyzing donor data and identifying donors for solicitation and stewardship,
    • Attending community events to represent the organization.

    We are seeking a team player with strong organizational and communications skills. The Development Coordinator will work closely with the Development Director and Executive Director and will collaborate with the Communications Team and program staff.

    Responsibilities

    Fundraising:

    • Work closely with the Development Director to implement the annual fundraising plans.
    • Help identify donors for solicitation and stewardship.
    • Create content and coordinate the online fundraising campaigns.
    • Create outreach and fundraising materials.
    • Help organize virtual events for donors.
    • Provide Salsa Labs marketing platform communications support as needed.
    • Attend community events and seek opportunities to represent the organization.
    • Help manage donor prospect pipeline and funnel.
    • Supervise work-study intern and or temporary employee
    • Prospecting for grants when needed.

    Event Coordination:

    • Be the point person for the annual fundraising event’s planning, organizing and logistics.
    • Identify and solicit new businesses that align with the Ecology Center’s values to sponsor the annual fundraising event.
    • Reach out to sponsors for the annual fundraising event– mailing letters and handling follow-up.
    • Develop content for the annual fundraising event’s Webpage Calendar, Save Date, Invite, Program Content, and E-blasts
    • Help organize virtual events for donors.
    • Help coordinate the Board of Directors meetings.

    Data Management:

    • Help analyze donor data to identify donors to cultivate and solicit.
    • Assist the Development Director in communications planning and email list analysis in collaboration with the Communications Team to create tailored messages to supporters.
    • Assist Development Team with CRM development database data entry & list pulling.
    • Maintain current working knowledge of Salesforce CRM development database, troubleshoot issues with the CRM, and provide occasional backup support for CRM. data-entry and report generation and run finance related reports.
    • Create mailing lists on Salesforce for all mailing campaigns.
    • Manage mailing process for appeals and newsletters.
    • Coordinate development print jobs with staff and vendors.
    • Enter and maintain records in the donor database, including entry of gift, contact and visit information.

    Qualifications

    • 2+ years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, donor outreach, and data management.
    • Experience with CRM development database management (including mailing lists, creating reports, mail merge, data entry.)
    • Experience with data analysis.
    • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Ability to communicate and collaborate successfully with individuals and teams at all levels.

    • Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
    • Experience in event planning and coordination.
    • Knowledge in planned giving, preferable not a requirement.
    • Experience using Salsa Labs or similar email marketing platform.

    Reports to: Development Director

    Salary and Benefits

    Range: $57,000-$65,000

    This is a salary position and wages are commensurate with experience.
