    In 2022, Together for Girls launched and continues to host the Brave Movement, a global advocacy movement of survivors and allies working to end childhood sexual violence.

    Position Overview

    Together for Girls is seeking a highly organized and proactive Project Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and successful delivery of the Out of the Shadows initiative. The role involves developing and maintaining detailed project plans, tracking progress, managing risks, and ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and budget. Acting as the primary liaison between cross-functional teams and stakeholders, the Project Manager will coordinate resources, facilitate meetings, and ensure clear communication throughout the project lifecycle. Key responsibilities include budget tracking, resource allocation, milestone reporting, and the development of metrics to assess project impact. This role requires a collaborative approach to solving challenges, refining processes based on evaluation insights, and aligning project outcomes with organizational goals. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, an ability to manage complex projects, and experience in fostering integration across diverse technical areas such as data, advocacy, and communications.

    The position will also include monitoring and evaluation activities and deliverables, beyond the Out of the Shadows Index, for other Together for Girls initiatives.

    This position reports directly to the Director of Global Campaigns. This is a three year position with possible renewal.

    Responsibilities and Duties

    Out of the Shadow Index project management (80%)

    • Develop and maintain a detailed project work plan, including goals, timelines, tasks, and resource allocation to ensure the project is completed on time and within scope and budget.
    • Continuous monitoring of project delivery, tracking risks and working with the project team to mitigate and course correct when necessary.
    • Responsible for budget tracking including financial forecasting and monitoring budget expenditure.
    • Coordinate project activities, resources, and information across multiple departments to meet project objectives.
    • Act as the primary point of contact for project delivery stakeholders, ensuring clear and consistent communication of project progress, risks, and changes.
    • Facilitate regular meetings and reporting sessions with team members and stakeholders to assess project milestones and performance, oversee note-taking, and ensure that all meeting agendas, notes, action items, and materials are well-organized within TfG’S Google Drive.
    • Collaborate with the finance team to ensure appropriate resource availability throughout each project phase.
    • Address project challenges or barriers promptly, collaborating with relevant teams to find solutions and prevent delays.
    • Work with the project team to develop metrics to measure project impact and effectiveness, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and strategic objectives.
    • Compile data, analyze results, and prepare comprehensive reports for internal and external stakeholders.
    • Use evaluation insights to refine future project strategies and processes.
    • Provide advice and recommendations to technical leads including on data, advocacy and communications, to ensure integration of different elements of the project.

    Monitoring, evaluating and reporting (20%)

    • Support efforts to monitor and evaluate the work of TFG inline with the organizational strategy
    • Collate content from program leads to inform grant reporting materials
    • Provide analysis from findings to inform future work and delivery by TFG.

    Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

    • 4+ years of experience in project management, preferably in the nonprofit sector or in a mission-driven organization.
    • Proven ability to manage projects from inception to completion with measurable impact.
    • Experience with budget management, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional collaboration.
    • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Proficiency in project management tools and software.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
    • Experience in multistakeholder relationship management High level of initiative, accountability, and attention to detail.
    • Collaborative, with a positive attitude and a flexible approach.
    • Knowledge of international development, violence or gender issues.

    Background

    Violence against children and adolescents is a prevalent and devastating global crisis. Sexual violence is a notable taboo, and often hidden, form of violence. Across the globe, between 4-35% of girls and 1-21% of boys experience sexual violence before their 18th birthday. Childhood sexual violence takes on many forms and it can happen to anyone.

    We envision a world where every child and adolescent is safe, protected, and thriving. Decades of research show how effective solutions can prevent sexual violence, with policies and programs to ensure survivors access healing and justice.

    Together for Girls was created to work across sectors with a comprehensive and holistic approach to preventing and responding to violence. We understand that a multi-faceted problem like violence requires a multi-sectoral, radically collaborative solutions. Our partners include survivor activists, civil society, national governments, United Nations entities, and the world’s foremost leaders in global health, gender equity, development, and violence prevention and response.

    Location & Ways of Working

    This position is a full-time position that should be based on the east coast of the United States. Applicants should have work authorization for their preferred location. This is currently a remote position with the expectation to travel to attend some in-person meetings periodically.

    All team members are expected to be available during Together for Girls’ priority scheduling hours of 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM Eastern Standard Time. The other four hours that the team member chooses to work are flexible and may be coordinated with their supervisor.
