    Description

    The Development Manager will solicit financial resources to sustain and grow the organization’s operations, programs, and community impact. Reporting to the executive director and collaborating with the board of directors and staff, the development manager is responsible for planning and performing fundraising tactics related to grants / proposals, special events, and individual and institutional giving.

    Primary duties & responsibilities include but are not limited to

    • Create and implement a fundraising plan to diversify and increase the organization’s revenue
    • Cultivate, solicit, and steward individual and institutional donors
    • Lead annual giving, major gifts, planned giving, and corporate sponsorship programs
    • Research and write proposals for funding from foundations, corporations, and government entities
    • Develop and maintain a calendar of grant deadlines and reporting requirements
    • Track and report on progress, use of grant funds, ensuring compliance with funder requirements
    • Plan and oversee seasonal fundraising events to ensure event success
    • Administer correspondence and communications related to development efforts
    • Maintain accurate donor records in the organization’s CRM system (NEON)
    • Uphold the mission and the values of the organization

    Qualifications include

    • Combination of higher education and relevant experience in nonprofit fundraising, donor management, grant writing and management, or related roles
    • Proven ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with funders and donors
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience with grant writing and funding appeals
    • Experience planning and implementing successful fundraising campaigns and events
    • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office suite; experience with social media and website management is a plus
    • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
    • Self-motivated, collaborative, and adaptable, with a passion for community engagement
    • Familiarity with the philanthropic community in Middle Tennessee is highly desirable
    • Availability to work flexibly, including occasional evenings and weekends

    Classification & compensation

    Annual compensation for this full-time, exempt employee includes an annual salary starting at $60,000 plus a monthly stipend for healthcare and cell phone. Annual paid time off consists of 10 vacation days, 11.5 holidays, and 12 sick days.
