    TITLE: Bilingual (English and Spanish) Caseworker

    DEPARTMENT: Benefit Assistance Program

    REPORTS TO: Benefit Assistance Director

    SALARY RANGE: $45,000-$50,000

    LOCATION: Manhattan/ Bronx

    DATE: January, 2025

    JOB SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Benefit Assistance Director, the caseworker will provide individuals and families with case management, case assistance, benefit counseling, entitlement assistance, and other social services and assistance at multiple Bronx locations. The caseworker will conduct ongoing presentations and community outreach to recruit new clients and attend special events/tabling to promote the program and services.

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Associate degree required, BA preferred
    • At least 1-2 years of community/family support case management work/experience
    • Familiarity with social services benefits (entitlements)
    • Strong communication skills, listening skills, written and verbal communication skills, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
    • Empathy and interpersonal skills to build positive relationship with clients
    • Strong computer literacy to learn all program databases and strong skills in Words, Excel, and Spreadsheet
    • Bilingual required in English and Spanish

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Manage annual contractual caseload and achieve monthly deliverables for all programs in the Bronx which includes; Early Childhood, Individual and families
    • Maintain and update client caseloads in the contractual required tracking systems which should include intake, assessment, application process, referrals, and outcomes.
    • Ongoing support for clients through comprehensive assessment and counseling; benefit assessment screening, planning, implementing, overall evaluation of client’s needs, case assistance & case management, follow up (weekly/ monthly) as required.
    • Responsible for collaborating and providing services to all Grand Street programs in various Bronx locations and sites, which includes recruitment, outreach, working with the ECP family advocate/workers and Program Directors for all programs.
    • Liaison for Legal, Financial and Tax Services.
    • Responsible for doing (internal/external) outreach, presentation, informative Zoom meetings, tabling at events and food pantries, attending events, and providing information about services to the community to recruit new clients
    • Activities assistance and special projects as assigned
