We create welcoming programs, events, and recreational experiences while working toward a healthy harbor.     Department Mission

    The Waterfront Partnership's Marketing Department utilizes a range of strategies and creative approaches to highlight the unique experiences, educational programs, and captivating events that celebrate the beauty of our neighborhoods and the charm of our community.

    Role Summary

    We are looking for a Marketing Manager who is excited to explore our neighborhoods and share that enthusiasm with various audience archetypes through lifestyle and destination marketing strategies. The ideal candidate is familiar with our neighborhoods and can share their experiences enjoying our district's public spaces and small businesses. The marketing Manager should possess strong storytelling and graphic design skills. Integrating these two abilities is essential to our inbound marketing strategies to meet tight deadlines.

    Objectives

    • Work closely with the Marketing Director to execute the marketing campaigns and multi-channel strategies that have been developed by the Marketing Team
    • Leverage both outbound and inbound marketing strategies to enhance brand visibility and engagement.
    • Create visually engaging promotional strategies tailored to specific target audiences, utilizing graphic design elements like eye-catching visuals and cohesive color schemes to enhance brand identity and communicate the message effectively.
    • Create engaging multi-channel communications that connect with diverse audience segments across social media, newsletters, blogs, videos, and more.
    • Manage audience engagement strategies and foster community outreach initiatives.
    • Manage photography and videography projects to ensure the production of high-quality visual content.
    • Maintain the organization’s website, events calendar, and promotional materials to ensure up-to-date and consistent messaging.

    Responsibilities

    • Create captivating digital content that includes eye-catching graphic designs, social media posts, blogs, travel guides, and short-form videos
    • Combine traditional promotional methods with a focus on graphic design to enhance visual impact
    • Creating brand-aligned designs, collaborating with marketing teams, managing print production, and staying updated on design trends to engage the audience
    • Oversee portions of the organization's website, including page building, copywriting, graphic design, and SEO optimization
    • Identify and target various customer demographics using audience analysis and segmenting tools on various mass marketing platforms (e.g., Classy, Mailchimp)
    • Communicate and collaborate with local organizations and businesses to create compelling lifestyle content that promote the neighborhood experience
    • Gather and curate diverse content types (blogs, articles, photos, videos, quotes) for newsletters and event calendar listings
    • Capture compelling stories of the waterfront through photography and videography
    • Collaborate with the various departments to showcase event spirit through videos and manage photo galleries that feature neighborhoods, public parks, vendors, small businesses, residents, and special events

    Key Qualifications and Skills

    • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or equivalent experience
    • 3+ years of experience in marketing, with at least two years in a management role
    • Proven track record of successful marketing campaigns and initiatives, submitted portfolio preferred
    • Highly experienced in various social media platforms and expert knowledge in multi-channel distribution (Instagram, Facebook, Youtube, Linkedin, etc.)
    • Demonstrates strong visual communication skills with clear and consistent vision when executing brand strategy. (Some skills with InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc. are preferred) (mid-level experience is required)
    • Direct experience crafting website and email communications with an email marketing service (i.e., Mailchimp, Squaerspace, ConstantContact, etc.)
    • Some knowledge of executing "outbound" strategies through traditional marketing channels (entry-level experience is acceptable)
    • Preferred experience with "Content Marketing" approaches and developing "inbound" strategies (i.e., blogs, podcasts, and video)
    • Demonstrates excellent written communication skills in copywriting

    This is a full-time position. Compensation is commensurate with experience This job currently requires three days in the office (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) and two days of remote work (Monday and Friday) each week. Evening and weekend event hours as needed.
