    Description

    Oversees the daily operation of the computer lab used by clients participating in ESOL Classes and youth programming; and, provides one-on-one coaching and classes to students in computer skills and lab use.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Implement the Digital Skills for Life (DS4L) program to offer a comprehensive 20-hour foundational digital literacytraining, divided into four modules of three sessions each, plus a mandatory orientation session. The curriculum includes essential topics such as computer components (e.g., keyboard, mouse, monitor), software (including operating systems and applications), internet browsing, email management, file organization, digital security (including phishing and malware awareness), and online communication through messaging apps and social media platforms.
    2. Assists students in using the computer lab during open access sessions. Provides one-on-one instruction and/or coaching asrequested or as deemed necessary. Maintains order and enforces computer lab rules. Provide support to any members of an organization who needs computer-related technical assistance.
    3. Orient students in social media and digital technology that allows the sharing of ideas and information, including text and visuals, through virtual networks and communities. Plans and leads computer classes for students while working in conjunction with Adult Education Coordinator and other staff to enhance student academic achievement.
    4. Resolves equipment, Internet, and problems as skills permit. Notifies the Youth Coordinator of other problems.
    5. Participate in weekly Educational and other meetings as requested. Participatesin program planning, development, and evaluation as requested.
