    Description

    Lady Freethinker, a nonprofit organization dedicated to exposing and stopping animal suffering, seeks a campaign director to oversee existing campaigns and campaign staff as well as strategize and execute new campaigns and investigations to end animal cruelty.

    The ideal candidate is a seasoned team leader and longtime supporter of animal protection with a proven record of success in the advocacy/nonprofit landscape.

    This is a full-time position. The LFT team is fully remote; however, California residents are strongly preferred.

    Responsibilities:

    • Spearhead impactful campaigns, reports, and investigations to end animal cruelty in industries such as social media, the dog meat trade, wildlife tourism/captivity, and puppy mills
    • Oversee the creation of accurate, compelling public-facing campaign materials such as petitions, e-newsletters, landing pages, and social media posts
    • Analyze performance of campaign materials using key metrics
    • Plan persuasive outreach materials for industry leaders, authorities, and other decision-makers to urge them to address animal issues
    • Strategize effective and innovative tactics to change the way animals are perceived and treated across the globe
    • Plan on-the-ground actions to complement online campaign efforts
    • Utilizing online project management software such as Asana and Slack, organize and delegate campaign projects and tasks
    • Work closely with staff and contractors to ensure maximum communication, efficiency, and quality in a remote environment
    • Identify when new contractors are necessary for specialty work and recruit as needed
    • Facilitate partnerships with fellow nonprofits and coalition leaders
    • In partnership with the executive team, create short- and long-term campaign goals
    • Plan campaign calendar to meet goals and KPIs
    • Monitor existing campaigns for updates

    Requirements:

    • Experience with animal advocacy campaigns
    • At least 5 years of professional experience in nonprofit advocacy, specifically in positions of increasing leadership
    • Deep knowledge of current animal-protection issues
    • Thorough understanding of what makes an animal advocacy campaign compelling and successful
    • A creative, solution-focused mindset
    • The ability to either take direction or lead, depending on the situation
    • The ability to tolerate seeing images and descriptions of disturbing animal cruelty
    • The ability to write clearly, concisely, and logically
    • The ability to identify and correct factual or grammatical errors
    • The capacity to work independently and effectively in an all-remote team
