    Jesuit Refugee Service/USA

    The mission of Jesuit Refugee Service/USA (JRS/USA) is to accompany, serve, and advocate the cause of refugees and other forcibly displaced persons, that they may heal, learn and determine their own future. JRS works in 58 countries worldwide to meet the educational, health, psycho-social, and emergency needs of more than 1.25 million refugees and other forcibly displaced persons, regardless of race, ethnic origin, or religious beliefs.

    Job Description

    The MHPSS Temp will gap-fill while the Senior MHPSS Specialist is on maternity leave. The MHPSS Temp will report to the MHPSS Officer who will be acting as interim Specialist, overseeing the global MHPSS Unit.

    Responsibilities

    • Take on or support MHPSS related initiatives such as mapping, data collection and analysis, drafting reports, administering surveys.
    • Support administrative tasks for the MHPSS Unit, including coordinating logistics for meetings, drafting emails, reviewing documents, updating spreadsheets
    • Manage digital content by maintaining Sharepoint and Viva Engage as needed, and coordinate with relevant focal points.
    • Draft, review, and format or design materials utilized for MHPSS Unit visibility
    • Participate and contribute to relevant meetings including, Interaction Protection Working Group, Interaction SGBV Working Group, and JRS Gender Task Force, and provide updates to the MHPSS Officer.
    • Any other duties assigned by the acting interim Specialist.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or other related field desirable but not required
    • Demonstrated experience in operations and administrative work or research
    • Some knowledge of humanitarian field and work preferred
    • Experience in utilizing online tools like sharepoint, asana, and kobotoolbox to gather, track, and store data, or willingness to learn independently
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Experience in developing and hosting a Community of Practice
    • Self-starter, able to work independently but contribute to a small team
