    Description

    New York League of Conservation Voters (NYLCV) is the only statewide environmental organization in New York that fights for clean water, clean air, renewable energy and open space through political action. We're non-partisan, pragmatic and effective.

    Reporting to the Deputy Director of Politics, the NYLCV Political Organizing Fellow will play a critical role in the organization. Their work will allow NYLCV to further its mission of electing more environmental champions to office.

    Successful applicants will have experience with the political campaign process, volunteer organizing, campaign field work, and researching. This Fellowship offers an opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in the field of political campaigns and environmental advocacy.

    Responsibilities
    • Engage in candidate and campaign research
    • Assist in drafting candidate profiles
    • Monitor political events and news stories concerning the election
    • Create or update databases for tracking our endorsement process
    • Organize and lead volunteer efforts for NYLCV endorsed candidates
    • Collaborate on various department-wide projects as needed
    Requirements
    • A self-starter with excellent writing and communication skills
    • Ability to work nights and weekends as needed during the election season
    • Experience with outreach to campaign staff
    • Understanding and experience with campaign activities (phone calls and canvassing)
    • Proficient with Google Docs and Google Sheets
    • Willingness to learn

    Location: NYLCV is based in lower Manhattan and works in a hybrid work environment.

    Weekly Hourly Requirements: 15-20 hours

    Compensation: $20/hr.
