    REPORTS TO: Nursing Director

    LOCATION: Hybrid: Lake Luzerne, NY with some remote availability

    SALARY RANGE: $55,000 to $63,000

    ABOUT US

    The Double H Ranch, co-founded by Charles R. Wood and Paul Newman, provides specialized programs and year-round support for children and their families dealing with life-threatening illnesses. All programs are free of charge and capture the magic of the Adirondacks.

    JOB PURPOSE

    The Nursing Coordinator assists the Nursing Director with camper application review, volunteer recruitment and training, and acts as a clinical resource for staff and volunteers.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Assist Nursing Director with review and approval of all camper applications for traditional summer camp, Adaptive Winter Sports Program, and family weekends and provide medical knowledge on follow-up questions regarding camper applications.
    • Assist Volunteer Director in the recruitment of medical volunteers.
    • Update and review volunteer nurse evaluation forms and submit annually.
    • Collaborate with Volunteer Coordinator to correspond with medical volunteers throughout the year.
    • Interview all incoming volunteer nurses prior to the summer season.
    • Develop and facilitate summer volunteer nurse medical orientation each session and follow-up with all volunteer nurses throughout their session at the Ranch.
    • Create and distribute medical information and training for all medical volunteers, seasonal staff, and volunteers.
    • Participates on committees, and special projects and seeks additional responsibilities

    • Consistently reports to work on time prepared to perform duties of position.
    • Meets Department productivity standards.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Experience, Education and Licensure

    • State of New York Registered Nursing License
    • Valid CPR certifications
    • Valid PALS certifications
    • 3 years of clinical experience
    • Pediatric nursing experience preferred.

    Language Skills

    • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
    • Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
    • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups and/or boards of directors.

    Given the responsibilities and functions of the Nursing Coordinator, it will be necessary to create a flexible work schedule that allows you to meet the expectations of your position. It will be necessary for you to be available within reason on evenings and weekends in order to communicate effectively with the constituents who support our organization. The Double H Ranch supports flexible work practices for employees who are required to be available outside the traditional 9:00am- 5:00pm office requirement.
