    Position: Development Associate

    Reports To: Executive Vice President

    Employment Status: Full-Time, Work hours 9AM – 5PM

    Office Location: 5 Days a week in NYC Office

    Position is available ASAP

    Job Summary:

    American Skin Association, a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization, with the mission of advancing research in skin biology and championing skin health, particularly among children. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Development Associate to support our fundraising efforts. This position will assist with various aspects of development operations, including donor relations, event planning, and grant research. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, strong communication abilities, and a passion for philanthropy.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Manage and maintain donor records in our CRM database
    • Coordinate logistics for fundraising events and appeals
    • Conduct research on potential funding sources and prepare grant proposals
    • Provide exceptional customer service to donors and stakeholders
    • Assist with annual giving campaigns and stewardship programs
    • Prepare acknowledgments and reports for donors
    • Perform data entry and administrative tasks as needed

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree preferred, relevant coursework in nonprofit management, communications, or a related field
    • 2-3 years of experience in development or a related field
    • Strong organizational and time management skills
    • Proficiency in CRM databases (experience with Raiser's Edge a plus)
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
    • Passion for philanthropy and commitment to our mission

    Preferred Skills:

    • Experience with fundraising software and tools
    • Basic knowledge of accounting principles
    • Familiarity with grant writing and reporting
    • Social media savvy and comfort with online platforms
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
