VOLUNTEER WITH OUR NON PROFIT ORGANIZATION WHILE EXPERIENCING OUR LOCAL CULTURE, AND SUPPORT TO EMPOWER LOCAL COMMUNITIES IN SONGEA, TANZANIA (EAST AFRICA)

We are nonprofit Organization known as Mtotomwema Kindergarten Foundation operating in Songea Ruvuma Regions Tanzania. We are dealing with Education, Health, Peace, Humanitarian work and Environmental projects by using local and International volunteers. This project is targeting children and youths. This group is facing more challenges in the community especially in their living areas. In Songea we are running Educational and Environmental projects which involve local volunteers (Tanzanians) and International volunteers.

PROGRAMS WE OFFER TEACHING PROJECT

1. Teaching English and any other international language for Children in day care & Primary School In Tanzania most of schools they are teaching in Swahili language from Kindergarten to primary school when they go to secondary sudden change to English language in all subjects except Swahili language. Therefore there is no connection between primary and secondary school interns languages are used, that's why we initiated this project to help children from the beginning to prepare the children when they go to secondary will be easy for them. In this project Volunteers will Teach English and develop their own lesson plans in line with learning objectives for each class, to teach English, counting/mathematics, various sports and songs and help to determine and stimulate the kids’ talents and instruct them accordingly with love and care alongside with local Teachers.
2. Teaching Youth English and other International languages Most of Tanzanians are not good enough in speaking or writing English language because is our second language, but in Songea Tourism Industry offer a source of Employment which may lead to improve their livelihoods for the house hold level therefore in this project Adults will learn English language from volunteers. So volunteers will prepare the topics to teach Adults English language with an assistance of Rotary Club of Songea Staffs.
3. Community Empowerment In this project will includes Peace Education, General Health, Gender, Sexual, Reproductive Health and decision making in the societies. In Tanzania those are subjects and topics that are not taught in schools just why we saw a reason to initiate this project. Therefore volunteers in this project will work with young teenagers in primary and secondary schools to ensure that the young are get well informed in those topics and subjects. CULTURAL EXCHANGE AND LEARNING OPPORTUNITY

Songea Ruvuma is the tourism Region and one of the attraction places in East Africa. In Songea, volunteers will get a chance to visit The Ngoni Tribe (largest tribe in Tanzania), Majimaji War National Museums, Nyerere and Selous National Park. We can organize a trip for you if you like in a reasonable price. Also Songea is the nearest place to the conversation areas and parks like Nyerere National Park, where volunteers can get a chance to visit those places that is full of best wild Animals and Birds. Also interaction with the local people where by volunteers to learn African (Tanzanian) ways of life, traditions and dishes. Help With the organization team, volunteers will be teaching in different schools we work with in the communities of Songea Districts in order to make sustainable impacts when they finish their volunteering activities. Teaching Programs: - Teaching in Nursery/ Day Care and primary schools (working with kids); Teaching them to count, reading, painting, English language, songs and different Arts and sports. - Teaching in Primary and Secondary Schools; Most of primary schools in Songea - Ruvuma region contain kids aged 5 years to 13. Volunteers will be helping to teach English, Mathematics, Science, Geography Art subjects/final Arts or other foreign language i.e, French, Italian language, Spanish language, Germany language to some other institutions. - Teaching in Secondary Schools; Most of secondary school students are aged from 14 to 22. In Tanzania, the secondary system is divided into two thus; Ordinary level and Advanced level (High Schools). Here, volunteers will have to teach Mathematics, science subjects, Art subjects and English and other foreign languages such as Spanish Germany language, Italian language and French language to some institutions. Languages spoken English: Fluent Swahili (Kiswahili): Fluent Accommodation Food: We normally provide volunteers/interns with 3 meals per day (breakfast, lunch, and dinner). We offer locally sourced, fresh, and nutritious produce in meals cooked (please it's only local Tanzanian food not European foods). Please let us know in advance if you have any strict dietary restrictions. Furthermore, a volunteer/intern can learn to prepare local dishes (cook) or prepare his/her home dishes if you like. We are kindly ask all volunteers/interns to contribute a small amount at least (10€) per day, this cash will support the host Family to provide you with the meals, to pay water bill and electricity bill during your stay, it will be paid directly to the host family on your 1st day of arrival to easer for family to prepare food stuffs for you. It will use only for the purposes of food and as I said early not as a donation towards the project or charity because our project and program is free. During your stay volunteers shall have a chance to learn a local language (Swahili ) and Tanzanian ways of life during his or her stayed. In Songea city, there is a hostels for those volunteers who prefer to stay in the hostels also available for their own cost (which isn't owned by the organization) A little more information Internet access Limited internet access Can host families Space for parking camper vans we can provide space for camper vans. DURING WEEKENDS OR FREE TIME OUR VOLUNTEERS HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO VISIT: some places like Visit in the Lake Nyasa near Malawi Southern Tanzania and tours sites Walking around the city of Songea Visit the local market for shopping and explore Making local dress and sometimes to get gifts for your families and friends Visit to tourism areas like Nyerere and Selous National Park, Mbinga Zoo. Take a flight directly to Songea Airport Tanzania then when you reach Songea Airport you will take a private car or public Transport up to Songea city to Peramiho Small town which is only 2:30 hrs Private car from Songea Airport to Peramiho Small town is 25$ and people can come to pick you up from Songea Airport up to Peramiho Small town but you will pay a transport for (transfer fee) Tanzania is a country with great wealth which you can enjoy starting from here. We look forward to stay with you as a volunteer or helper. After sending us a message we will reply immediately if there is availability or not according to the days of your choice. Then we will do a WhatsApp call between volunteer and program officer. There are six types of visa valid for entry into Tanzania ORDINARY VISA (SINGLE ENTRY VISA) (50$) This visa is granted to foreign national for the purposes of Visit, Tourism, Leisure, Holiday, attending Conference, Humanitarian and charity activities, Family Visit, Health Treatment or any other purpose as may be determined by the issuing authority. Its validity does not exceed 90days BUSINESS VISA (250$) Business visa may be issued for a period not exceeding 90 days to foreign nationals who wish to enter in the United Republic of Tanzania. NB: For those volunteers who will stayed with us at the end of the project volunteers will be given a T-shirt and certificate to verify that you participated in our project.
