    Description

    The Director of Government Grants will be responsible for managing and overseeing Zero Foodprint’s progress for all Federal and State Government Grants, and actively managing up to 10 grants/projects at time. This includes managing contracts, objectives, deliverables, milestones, timelines, and both financial and progress reporting. This role will work closely with Program Managers, Project Managers, field staff, and partners, reporting to the Director of Operations.

    The Director of Government Grants is responsible for managing budgets, deliverables, milestones, partners/subcontractors, ZFP team members, creating and maintaining spreadsheets and/or project management software to track grant spending against budgets, preparing invoices in accordance with specific guidelines and creating reports for various funders including foundations, as well as local, state, and federal government grants.

    This position also ensures internal controls are followed and that expenses claimed for reimbursement are within program and agency guidelines and are properly documented and approved. This position requires a highly organized and dynamic individual, with proven government grant and project management experience and a strong background managing teams, grants, accounting, and funding agency relationships. Must be both strategic (big picture) and detail oriented. This position requires strong leadership, computer skills, time management skills and the ability to multitask.

    Essential Responsibilities:

    1. Set goals and track progress on deliverables and milestones for incoming grants/projects.
    2. Work cross-functionally with team members to coordinate grant activities.
    3. Oversee creation, execution and completion of related contracts for partners, subawards, etc.
    4. Oversee status reports and quarterly progress reports for each project.
    5. Oversee project information in project management software such as Monday.com.
    6. Oversee project budgets with various categories such as travel, supplies, subcontractors, and staff time.
    7. Regular interaction with Program Staff to glean information to complete quarterly, semi-annual and annual/ end-of year reports and annual budget.
    8. Drafting both financial and progress reports for various grant funders with input from program staff.
    9. Ensure all elements of each project comply with grantor requirements including compliance with State and/or Federal policies as well as with ZFP policies and procedures (ie Travel, Procurement, and GAAP Accounting policies).
    10. Managing relationships with funders and partners, including regular communication and updates.
    11. Maintain detailed records of all grant data.

    Experience, Knowledge, and Skills

    1. Self-directed and able to manage multiple projects and partners simultaneously in a remote environment.
    2. Excellent organizational, problem solving, and interpersonal communication skills.
    3. Minimum 5 years similar experience with a demonstrated track record of meeting deadlines, deliverables, budget management, and managing teams.
    4. Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills.
    5. Fluency in Google Suite, and Monday.com, Asana, or other project management software.
    6. Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field required.
