    We are immediately hiring for a Part Time 32 hours/week Volunteer Program Coordinator to support and grow this community.

    Job Summary:

    We are seeking a Volunteer Coordinator to grow our facility volunteer program, support our hospice volunteer program and coordinate intergenerational events. Our Volunteer Coordinator has a great impact on our organization, in onboarding and training volunteers to support our residents through life enriching activities (ie; companionship, pet visit, music, reading, art and crafts, etc). Our Volunteer Coordinator also makes a difference in our community, by being the connecting bridge between volunteers and facility staff, and between community groups/school to our facility.

    Duties/ Responsibilities:

    • Interview, screen, train, assign and oversee volunteer staff under the direction of the Director of Volunteer Services.
    • Recruit volunteer staff using a variety of resources and techniques.
    • Attend and provide relevant updates in Hospice IDT meetings, track volunteer annual requirements, use and maintain VolunteerMatch postings for recruitment, coordinate and collaborate in hosting intergenerational events onsite at the facilities, etc.
    • Onboard new volunteer applicants, ensuring all HR paperwork is completed and uploaded.
    • Maintains volunteer personnel files, records, and data entry into a database.
    • Gathers information about each volunteer’s skills, availability, and goals, in order to match volunteers to facility and resident needs appropriately.
    • Schedules, coordinates, and assigns volunteers to appropriate departments, supervisors, and/or staff designees.
    • Offers new volunteer orientation training onsite at the facility.
    • Regularly communicates with volunteers to ensure placement is a good fit for individual’s skills and goals.
    • Communicates with Kline Galland Home facility team members to identify available opportunities and needs for volunteers.
    • Distributes guidelines, best practices, and procedures for volunteer program per direction of the Director of Volunteer Services.
    • Supports in coordination of volunteer recognition and appreciation events and activities.
    • Performs other related duties as required.

    Hours:

    32 hours a week with Comprehensive benefits; such as Health, Dental, Vision insurance etc. And includes Paid time off with separate sick time accruals!

    Shifts occur mostly on weekdays. And, must have ability to attend occasional special events on weekends or weekday evenings, as necessary.

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel)
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to prioritize effectively and meet deadlines in a professional manner.
    • Team player who can take initiative, work independently within department priorities, and is willing to learn and take on responsibilities, as appropriate.
    • Ability to actively listen, encourage and motivate others.

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s Degree required.
    • Program Coordination experience highly preferred.
    • Volunteer experience highly preferred.
    • Experience with (online and in person) recruitment preferred.
    • Experience working in healthcare preferred.
    • Experience working with diverse populations preferred.
    • Experience working in customer service preferred.
    • Experience utilizing Volgistics database preferred.
    • Experience with healthcare databases or EMR preferred.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Duties require the use of standard office equipment (e.g., desk, filing cabinet, computer, printer, telephone, copy machine, etc.)
    • Valid Washington state driver’s license, active insurance policy, with physical ability to drive, and access to reliable transportation.
    • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    • Lift up to 15 pounds at times.
    • Walk and stand for up to 15 minutes.

    Work Environment/Location:

    Most tasks and duties of this role is performed in person, indoors and onsite. Work locations are primarily at the healthcare facility in Seward Park, and the office location in Georgetown. Occasional recruitment event or meeting locations are within Seattle proper/King County.
