    Description

    The Role: As our signature program, The Juneteenth Experience, enters its milestone 5th year and expands into Broward County, we seek a Community Engagement Manager to develop and implement innovative community engagement strategies that will deepen our impact across South Florida. This part-time position will play a crucial role in bringing the celebration of Juneteenth beyond traditional performance spaces and into the heart of our communities.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Community Engagement:

    • Build and maintain relationships with key community stakeholders, including schools, cultural organizations, and community centers
    • Coordinate performance opportunities, tabling, appearances, and special events with Hued Songs cast and creative team.
    • Coordinate with the PR & communications team to ensure community engagement efforts help create synergy across all marketing strategies
    • Track and document community engagement metrics and impact
    • Serve as primary liaison for community partners
    • Create opportunities for meaningful community dialogue and participation

    Education & Programming:

    • Design and develop educational materials about Juneteenth's historical significance and contemporary relevance
    • Create engagement toolkits for different audience segments (schools, community centers, cultural organizations)
    • Coordinate the selection and management of resident artists for community outreach initiatives
    • Facilitate workshops and educational sessions in schools and community spaces
    • Design and implement creative placemaking events across South Florida, with a focus on Broward County

    Administration & Planning:

    • Develop and manage implementation timeline for all engagement activities
    • Monitor and maintain engagement initiative budget
    • Provide regular updates and reports on program progress
    • Document best practices and create recommendations for future engagement strategies

    Qualifications:

    • 3+ years experience in arts education, community engagement, or related field
    • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing community programs
    • Strong knowledge of Black history and culture, particularly relating to Juneteenth
    • Experience working with artists and managing creative professionals
    • Excellent project management and organizational skills
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Knowledge of South Florida County communities and cultural landscape
    • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required

    Ideal Candidate Will Have:

    • Deep connection to and understanding of Broward County communities
    • Experience in arts education or cultural programming
    • Track record of successful community engagement initiatives
    • Strong network within local educational and cultural institutions
    • Passion for arts accessibility and community building
    • Background in event planning and production
