    Program & Resource Specialist (January 2025)

    Position Summary

    The Program & Resource Specialist at the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF) will serve as the frontline resource for the OCD and related disorders community, providing information, support, and resources via phone, email, and in person at IOCDF events. The IOCDF serves all members of the OCD and related disorders community – from individuals living with the condition(s), to their supporters, to the variety of professionals who interact with them – and this role will be expected to interact with and serve all of them. This is a full time position and reports to the Youth & Families Program Manager. This is a hybrid position that can be based either out of the IOCDF’s Boston, MA office or fully remote if living outside of the Boston, MA area.

    Job Qualifications

    • High school diploma (or equivalent) is required. Interest in social work, public health, psychology, mental health, or related fields is preferred.
    • At least 1-2 years of direct community experience in a social work, public health, psychology, or mental health field is required. This experience can be as a professional or as a student/trainee/intern/volunteer.
    • Spanish language proficiency is strongly preferred.
    • Experience providing resources and referrals is preferred, whether in-person or over the phone/via e-mail.
    • Ability to interact with understanding and compassion with multiple stakeholders, including individuals with mental health conditions, their families/supporters, and professionals from a wide variety of disciplines.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and G-Suite required, especially G-mail
    • Self-motivated with the ability to respond and prioritize multiple emails and phone calls.
    • A problem-solver and team player, with the ability to interact with multiple departments.
    • Organization skills
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Community Support & Outreach

    • Provide phone and email support to those contacting the IOCDF by providing psychoeducation and connection to relevant community resources.
    • Oversee our online, peer-to-peer virtual community (HealthUnlocked), under the supervision of the Youth & Families Program Manager.
    • Provide consultation to other IOCDF staff on support and resource provision via other channels (e.g. blog comments, social media, and livestreams) as indicated.
    • Assist Youth & Families Program Manager with provision of support and resources at in-person IOCDF events, such as the Annual OCD Conference and OCD Walks.

    Resource Development

    • Maintain listings of external resources and programs for OCD and related disorders, including identifying areas of need and doing proactive research to fill gaps, under the supervision of the Youth & Families Program Manager.
    • Coordinate and review submissions for resources on the website, together with the Youth & Families Program Manager.

    Organizational & Departmental Support

    • Consults with other IOCDF staff on frontline support and communications, including responding to crisis situations.
      • This includes leading the monthly Frontline Check-in meeting with other staff, and providing onboarding to relevant staff in these roles.
    • In collaboration with Communications and External Relations teams, provide support and oversight to IOCDF Affinity Groups.
