    About the role

    The Junior MP - Operations Associate at MEDLIFE is crucial in expanding our mission by ensuring the seamless, efficient, and safe execution of Service Learning Trips (SLTs).

    Your day to day involves coordinating all logistics for Service Learning Trips (SLTs), ensuring a safe and seamless experience for volunteers and field staff. Responsibilities include managing registrations, trip communications, travel arrangements, budgeting, and supplier negotiations for Lima & Cusco regions. This role is essential for delivering impactful volunteer experiences that support the organization's mission to empower communities worldwide.

    What will your day-to-day look like at MEDLIFE?

    Coordination and Booking with Suppliers

    • Coordinate and finalize arrangements with suppliers, including hotels, transportation, and food services.
    • Lead and manage SLT logistics, ensuring all aspects are covered.
    • Supervise and support SLT leaders, ensuring that all volunteers are well-prepared and organized.

    Community and Professional Coordination

    • Coordinate with communities to prepare for SLT visits.
    • Manage the preparation and distribution of materials, medicines, and supplies needed for SLTs.
    • Ensure the coordination of healthcare professionals and volunteers during the SLT.

    Project Organization and Management

    • Oversee the organization of various SLT projects, ensuring all logistics are in place.
    • Ensure effective follow-up with patients post-SLT, ensuring that medical and educational outcomes are tracked and reported.

    Supervision and Leadership

    • Supervise the overall operations of the SLT in the field, ensuring smooth execution and addressing issues as they arise.
    • Ensure volunteers receive ongoing support, feedback, and guidance throughout the trip

    What will you bring?

    • 1+ year of work experience in operations, logistics, or travel coordination, ideally with experience in volunteer or educational programs.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality, or related field.
    • Advanced-level English skills required.
    • Experience in coordinating and negotiating with suppliers, such as hotels, transport services, and food providers.
    • Ability to manage and coordinate volunteer leaders during Service Learning Trips (SLTs).
    • Proven ability to coordinate field operations, including medical teams, materials, and logistics.
    • Strong organizational and multitasking skills to handle multiple components of an SLT.
    • Good communication skills, both with internal teams and external partners, including volunteers and field professionals.
    • Ability to handle emergency situations and solve logistical issues on the go.
    • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage complex logistical details.
    • Commitment to the mission of empowering communities and supporting healthcare access globally.
    • Live in Costa Rica
