    PART-TIME ACCOUNTANT (20hrs/week)

    The Organization:

    Regional Housing Legal Services (RHLS) is a nonprofit law firm with unique expertise in affordable, sustainable housing and its related components — community and economic development, utility matters and preservation of home ownership. RHLS provides innovative project and policy solutions that help create sustainable communities offering decent, safe and affordable housing for lower-income Pennsylvanians.

    Position Summary:

    This position reports to the CFO/Director of Administration and has the potential to work remotely.

    Responsibilities:

    • Perform month-end and year-end close analysis; prepare monthly workpapers.
    • Prepare and post monthly/annual adjusting journal entries including review of payroll journal entry.
    • Perform monthly bank and intercompany reconciliations.
    • Approve/review transactions in AP system.
    • Provide annual audit support; gather necessary information/documents and prepare related support schedules.
    • Review and approve semi-monthly payroll; review/analyze legal timekeeping system to ensure appropriate hours are recorded.
    • Other duties, as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Accounting.
    • Supervisory experience preferred.
    • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Knowledge of and demonstrated proficiency in the use of software and the ability to use/learn new technology, as needed. Experience with accounting systems and Microsoft Office required.
    • Demonstrated commitment to achieving racial and economic justice.

    Compensation hourly, from $37.50 to $45
